Just wanted to say thanks for the help. The extender seemed to install just fine (by wav file) without any special prep work. The only optional protocol I installed was the custom mode names one (which works great), but I found that after the install button presses were frustratingly unresponsive ...

Sorry for bumping an older thread, but this one seemed most pertinent.
I installed the extender on my 8910, and deleted all optional protocols/devices that came with it except for the custom mode names.
The difference in speed/responsiveness between non-extended key presses (arrow keys, volume ...

The OBC for the PRESET button should be 188. Here's how I got it...
-SNIP-
So, bottom line, try entering 188 as the OBC in KM or RM and see if that works for the PRESET button.
Wow, thanks very much.
[edit]
Whoops, was using the wrong, well, everything (rmdu file, older Rm etc. etc.). That works ...

Thank you so much! How exactly do you go about doing that? Is information available anywhere?

I do plan to but meanwhile...

This, in theory, should be the code I'm looking for (found on the entor-net)

preset

Thanks. Still having no luck finding the right code, though.

To anybody else with the same dimmer: The code for the Lutron Spacer power button (EFC:043) works exactly like hitting the maestro's toggle switch and can be held to delay turning off for X seconds (function not on factory remote)

Ahh, I see (I've been using RM exclusively). So I'll need to use KM for this one to work, then?

I did, yes, but couldn't get the unit to respond.
I tried this one just now though, and it works partially, but has no preset button.

Scene Off = Full Off
Scene 1 = Full On
Master Lower = Dim Down
Master Raise = Dim Up

Ahh, I see, thanks. Looks like the upgrade requires being able to download from the remote (I don't have a jp1 cable & have just been using ir.exe to generate upgrade wavs), so I guess I'm out of luck for a bit.

OFA 8910 - Can I change displayed text?

It would be much nicer to see something useful like "XBOX" instead of "CBL" when that item's selected. Is there a way to change the displayed text for this remote?
