I decided to go all the way, and opened the remote control using the "Plastic Strips" method. It turned out to be quite painless...
All of the octal button keycodes were printed on the PCB except for the "Joystick" unit. The RDF has been updated.

The URC-7040 does not support macros. The 995 command gives only one long LED pulse instead of two short pulses.
