Cool.

I had assumed an extender was a piece of hardware from the few times i've seen it mentioned.

Faster macros would be nice.
If i start using an extender, but then need to learn a new device, i can still go back to the original configuration to do so, right?

theres my IR file.

I think I have everything the way i want it, for now.

I used keymoves for the discrete codes i plan on using and made macros based on those.

I thought that if I did it this way, all the discrete codes would be in one place, but now that i ...

how about this:

i create a fake upgrade and just use the External Functions from RM. Each of those functions can be a different discrete function.
For example, Discrete off for the HDRW720 would be device type DVD, setup Code from the upgrade i made(2004), then whatever EFC used for discrete off ...

I updated the upgrade file with the discrete codes that I found. It is now uploaded under DVD and PVR.

I do have a question now that i have discrete codes to work with... do have to have the discrete code assigned to a button to use it in a macro? i dont want to use up valuable buttons on discrete ...

When i test all of the OBCs I'll just add the useful ones to the upgrade and re upload it.
Congrats on finding the additional codes. However, regarding the upgrade file, please don't JUST add the useful ones, instead please add all of them and just assign the ones that you feel are useful to ...

I found some Discrete Codes last night. :)
My favorite one is the Previous/Last Channel function, which is missing on the original remote.

Heres a short list:

Previous Channel: OBC 10
Dim LCD Display: OBC 19
Slow FWD 1/8x: OBC 34
Slow REW 1/8x: OBC 35
F.FWD 4x: OBC 40
F.REW 4x: OBC 41
Goto to ...

THANKS EVERYONE!!

Just an update....

The upgrade does work with the HDRW720. Got to have Christmas a little early and test it out.

Thanks everyone for the help and i hope someone else can make use of that upgrade!

I still want to look for discrete codes too, but this time of the year is busy. :)

Be aware that some codes can enter into a setup or diagnostic mode so back off if this happens rather than reset the firmware. In the DVDR70, for instance, if you send EFC 085 (OBC 235) and then press 121 212 005 255 and then press play it makes the darned thing region-free and turns off the ...

I'm new to this so bare with me.... why would I want to know if the other OBCs work? I have all of the signals from the original remote, what more would i need? or is it just to have a COMPLETE upgrade with all of the OBCs that do anything to the unit?
A device will often support additional ...

From the manual: JUMP BACK - To jump back a certain time period that can be changed in the settings of the HDD.

Cool thanks. So that would mean jump forward will be advance.

That leads to my only other question. I only see F.Fwd and F.Rew which on most I have seen is chapter or title next and ...

I might suggest you conduct a code search around the Power OBC (12) to see if there are discrete Power On and Off commands, as you have OBVIOUS unused OBCs of 10 and 11, and 13 and 14, on either side of the "Power" function.

2 2
3 3
4 4

Great job man. Now I can remove the file I was working on without either remote or unit here. I will remove the links to it in the 2 threads as well.

Just 1 question. Do you know from looking at the remote if jump foward and jump back is advance and replay or next track and prev track?

From the ...
