That will work, just cut the connector into 2 3-way connectors and glue them back to back and pin out the wires to the right locations

Did you try this file http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=10387 I found that thr Denon K protocol on newer Denon AVRs could control everything eliminating any helper upgrades.

The power macros at least on the 8820 were different from normal macros. Try assigning the master power manually as per the manual and then download from the remote to see the structure

I personally would recommend a true MCE remote using the RC6 protocol, there are thousands on e-bay. If the remote says it has mouse controls it is NOT a true MCE remote. Check out this quick search http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=rc6+mce+remote&_sacat=0&_odkw=rc6+remote&_osacat=0&_from=R40

@Robman Did you miss the post where you can cut the connector down cavity 4 leaving a 1x3 and 1x2 connector? you can then super glue these together back to back and use the existing connector, as an added bonus you can put the missing cavity in the corner where pin 1 is so you know the orientation.

Don't know if it will work but try copying the .dll files to windows/system or windows/system32 and see if RMIR finds them then, or you could add the .dll directory to your path right click My computer/properties/advanced system settings/Environment Variables.

Tommy, All this talk about usb to serial converters has brought up a question. Can a regular usb to serial converter like this one http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=usb+to+serial&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=6453028244276719865&sa=X&ei ...

Deleting the old one fixed it. This issue isn't mentioned anywhere in the documentation, is this an extender issue or? Where does the mane in the rdf come from? Should the extender merge operation edit the name in the rmir file to match the merged extender? Sorry, lots of questions and few answers ...

Just wanted to add that in IR when the file is opened it asks which rdf to use, in RMIR ir just opens without asking which one.

I just checked again and still see it. Did you put the v2.13 extender rdf in your rdf directory? I see extender v0.2 in your IR picture above. Maybe thats my problem, IR and RMIR may be using different rdf files. Here's a pic

OK, open the posted file in RMIR and save it as an IR file then open the IR file in IR803. Compare the macros in RMIR and IR and you will see that they are totally different. I have RM and RMIR using the same rdf files. It appears that IR is correct and for some reason RMIR is wrong. I hope this ...
