Sylvania DVL1000G Code

For those searching for the code for this DVD player, I had no luck searching here or on the JP1 group, but found this code elsewhere.

Seems to work fine on my 8910:

kupakai,

Great, thanks for the link! I did a search but for some reason, didn't find it.

Took me a while, since I'm a newbe, but it appears I finally figured out (after installing the latest java, RM & IR) how to actually get that file processed and uploaded to my remote.

Looks like it may work ...

Rob,

OK, I've gotten around to learning a bunch of the keys and downloaded them. You offered above that if I "post a copy of (my) IR file and (you'll) take a look at it".

I downloaded more than once because the memory would fill up. I've inserted the info and created a file in KM, so would that ...

Firefly Mini code search

The only other search was locked for some unstated reason, so I'll try again:

1. Device: SnapStream Firefly Mini
2. Type of device: PC software control
3. Year: 2006
4. UEI Remote model: 8910
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? yes
6. Still have original remote? yes
7. Checked the file section? yes
8 ...

It's my understanding the Firefly Mini is RF, not IR, so isn't compatible with learning remotes. If you have a wireless keyboard, you might try learning the keyboard commands into your remote.

Well, I just brought home a URC8910, plugged it in and it works perfectly. So there must be something that went wrong maybe with the way I soldered the 6pin plug interface to the pcb. For now I'll just use the 8910, which does a better job with my HT setup anyway.

Thanks to all for your ...

Quick response. I shorted the batt terminals & installed weak batteries without an improvement.

Yup, I tried weak batteries. But again, in the morning a few days ago the setup worked fine and without changing batteries later that same day, poof.

Thanks again for your interest.

No, I'm a little reluctant to reset and loose all the memorized codes still working in there, until I'm fairly certain I can get the interface to work.

I hope to soon test the cable on another JP1 remote to see if the issue is/or not with the cable. Let you know.

Thanks for the tip, but I've already run through all but checking the cable wiring. I think I'm going to get another remote and see if it works; that'll probably be the easiest way to tell if it's a failure in the cable.

Again, the real mystery is that it worked fine for a day or so; then kaput.

You mean check Advanced-Suppress Messages? If so, I tried it and get the "No Response" message and it does not download anything.

Also, above I said I thought it was uploading, but I think that was wishful thinking. It does not appear to be up or downloading.

Denon AVR-2700 volume up code?

I'm using device code 0160 and trying to do a key assignment for volume up. The only code I've found so far is 054 but doesn't seem to work. 056 works fine for volume down.

Thank you in advance!

Here's an update. Got tired of messing with it last night, so tried again this morning; still get "no response" message.

BUT tried uploading anyway and it appears that the codes are being uploaded (even though I get the response error message)!

Also, I've got the transmission delay set to 1600 (although it worked originally a 0).

Actually because it stopped working on my desktop I installed the software on my laptop with the same noresults. I'll reboot to see if that helps. BTW, I checked system-devices-properties for the parallel port to confirm I'm using the correct port address. Although this shouldn't have made this ...
