I dont remember if the remote does this by default, but oftentimes the power button is a function of the PIP mode, so maybe you could try assigning the pip buttons in the home theater mode and that might support the power button in HT (although the manual doesnt really show the power button in HT ...

Two nops after the stop?
Why not two nidles after the idle?
Or the classic nop stop idle hop
Just put the nop stop on the idle top
and then the extender will have a fender bender.

(In case you can't tell this was my best impresion of Dr Seuess...
thank you, thank you very much) he he he

Rob, Once again you are the man!

For whatever reason, now I think I understand your $005A post (didnt realize/remember bits worked like that). Tried your 28 in the PARM and it didnt work very well. This was to set bit 3 (i think)

So I put 22 in the PARM option (to represent bit 1 I think) and it ...

I looked at it, and I really think I can do that programming of the chip. Although I have done some more experimenting, and have found that the remote is blinking its LED more often than Girder is recognizing the signals. Girder recognizes the OEM remote keypresses in realtime (very quickly)

I Read ...

Very good, at least I know I am not crazy. The benefit of the extender is such that I can live with the slower keystrokes sequence. The faster macros, macros on device keys, and increased memory is definitely a fair trade. Keep up the good work, I am loving this stuff!

This IR.exe, KM, and Girder ...

have noticed something new on the extender today. I use one of the advanced codes to control my HTPC through a serial creative PCDVD ir remote control. I use this to browse my music selections and use repeated, very quick button presses to browse my albums and such.

With my advanced code loaded on ...

I have updated the PCB pictures webpage to include the chip

I have zoomed in on the //?? EEPROM ??// chip and added it to the PCB pictures page I had made:

Here is the address

Also, I am just a newbie, so ignore this if it makes no sense, but with the batteries in could it change the timings a ...

I think we may have a winning solution soon from Rob

Thanks for the reply. I did check some of the things you mentioned, namely, the remote does not reset until I unplug the JP1 cable. Both the above mentioned codes load correctly in this remote and all buttons work consistently, but I did not try to learn the codes yet because, as you will see, I ...

Ok, I opened the remote that wont take 3.1

I have opened the remote that crashes with 3.1, but works with 2.4. I have the same info on the circuit board as you list in the previous post. I have not opened my 8810W that works with 3.1 because I am a real hack, and I wanted to keep the two that accept the 3.1 extender in good condition. I am ...

I THINK I ** MAY ** HAVE FOUND A WAY TO TELL

I have three 8810W remotes. 2 remotes work with 3.1 extender, 1 remote crashes with 3.1 but will use 2.4 extender.

I still have 2 cases from purchasing these 3 remotes. The one case I am absolutely POSITIVE came from an 8810W that works with 3.1 extender

The other case I am 80% sure came with the ...

I suggest trying the extenders.

I took the extender plunge 3 days ago, and while it took a bit of time to follow the instructions to a T, once I was done, I really have the hang of it. I could easily do it again with only a glance at the instructions. I highly reccommend that you try the extenders as they will make your remote a ...

Figured out the extender, and yes, that makes everything much better. I feel like I am unlimited now in what I can do for this remote.

Thanks for the advice.

I can verify that the TWO remotes in question both have identical numbers URC-8810B00 on the battery casing. I have opened one of these remotes before and I did scratch the heck out of it... but if it meant the betterment of mankind, I would gladly do it again to check out the PCB's. Or if someone ...

Sorry, third reply to myself..

I have takent my WIFES remote which does not run with extender 3.1 installed as noted in post above, and I have installed 2.4 version of extender. So far it works perfectly, all functions I wanted with the 3.1 extender appear to be available to me in the 2.4 version. Right now everthing is kosher so ...
