JP1 is far and away still the best.

I must own at least a dozen JP1 remotes and a half a dozen other universal remotes. I even bought a refurbished Harmony recently to see if it lived up to all the hype. And that same week I bought a "Dell Premium Remote" which has an LCD screen for controlling ...

You may have already found an answer, but many devices that have an IR input are compatible with Xantech equipment. I know most Kenwood devices are compatible. If you have the model number of the Adcom unit I may be able to look it up. An example Xantech compatible receiver can be found here: http ...

The things I can think of are:

Is your wireless receiver set to the same housecode as the switches?
Could the batteries in your wireless controllers be dead?
Have you tried putting your wireless receiver in the plug where your corded unit works to test?

If none of those help, it might help to know ...

I'm not sure how it would look, but you might be able to get a way with a mirror placed behind the perforated portion of the screen to get the IR up to the other componenets.

Another option would be an IR/RF JP1 capable remote.

Or for $50 you could go the commercial route:

I hadn't done a JP1 mod, though I'd often wondered if it was possible. I knew it was based on a OFA remote. I'll definitely try. I'd actually stopped using my HouseLinc because I couldn't control several devices and the X10 portion stopped working. It'll definitely get some more use now. I did have ...

Jon,
I have this same device, so if there's anything I can test for you let me know. Also, can you tell me which SmartLinc user group you were refering to?

Thanks,

Dan

There's another option for those who are handy with a soldering iron.

You can convert an existing X10 lamp module to a silent module.

This site has more detailed instructions, but is ofen down.

Ok, first we need to find the advanced code list for your setup code, so we go to http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/adv-codes.shtml and find Sat 775. On that list I don't see Exit, I only see Cancel. To test cancel to see if it performs the function you want you press the SET key followed by the 3 ...

That remote is made by Universal Remote, the same company who make the Home Theater Master series of remotes. It's not compatable with JP1, only remotes made by Universal Electronics are. As for where to get one, it looks like it was custom made by them for a Pace Digital Cable box, so I'm not sure ...

Also, the SPB dialog seems to remember it's height, but not it's width across closing and re-opening IR. It would be nice if it would also remember it's width also.

When adding a new, non-SPB keymove, you can't enter a note. You can enter a note if you click ok, and re-open the keymove.

I would also find it more convenient if the Notes section behaved like the Bound Key section, where you can edit them in either dialog.

It should. But it's worth a test anyway. Basically, with the DEV conditional defined, IR assumes the operating system needs a driver installed to access the parallel port. This isn't true with 95/98/ME, and in fact the driver won't load. Thus the error message. I'd be pretty shocked if it wasn't all ...

Ah, incomplete directions once again. I finally searched the old group to see what Mark had said about the DEV directive. Not only do you need to remove it, you need to choose "Build All Projects" from the Project menu, not just Build IR. You need to do the same when you want to add it back to do ...
