JP1 is far and away still the best.
I must own at least a dozen JP1 remotes and a half a dozen other universal remotes. I even bought a refurbished Harmony recently to see if it lived up to all the hype. And that same week I bought a "Dell Premium Remote" which has an LCD screen for controlling ...

You may have already found an answer, but many devices that have an IR input are compatible with Xantech equipment. I know most Kenwood devices are compatible. If you have the model number of the Adcom unit I may be able to look it up. An example Xantech compatible receiver can be found here: http ...

I hadn't done a JP1 mod, though I'd often wondered if it was possible. I knew it was based on a OFA remote. I'll definitely try. I'd actually stopped using my HouseLinc because I couldn't control several devices and the X10 portion stopped working. It'll definitely get some more use now. I did have ...

That remote is made by Universal Remote, the same company who make the Home Theater Master series of remotes. It's not compatable with JP1, only remotes made by Universal Electronics are. As for where to get one, it looks like it was custom made by them for a Pace Digital Cable box, so I'm not sure ...

It should. But it's worth a test anyway. Basically, with the DEV conditional defined, IR assumes the operating system needs a driver installed to access the parallel port. This isn't true with 95/98/ME, and in fact the driver won't load. Thus the error message. I'd be pretty shocked if it wasn't all ...

Ah, incomplete directions once again. I finally searched the old group to see what Mark had said about the DEV directive. Not only do you need to remove it, you need to choose "Build All Projects" from the Project menu, not just Build IR. You need to do the same when you want to add it back to do ...
