I'll download them and give things a shot.

I was using RM 2.07 build 1 simply because that the most current
version available at the time.

28 pounds of remotes ... that's quite a collection. I've got a

Suggestions regarding next troubleshooting steps?

Here's the two changes I made / tried.

Changed the DVD macro to just do:

Dev_DVD;Set_Other

Changed the Aux2 Aux2 LKP key move to do:

Short Action Shift-DVD
Long Action XShift-DVD

Results:

After pressing the DVD button I was able to press the power button to turn the DVD player on / off ...

I've upload what I'm currently using.

You'll notice that VCR, CBL, TV, CD, PVR, DVD, AUX1, and AUX2
buttons all use the same structure. I.e:

Macro on TV:

Dev_TV; Set_Other; TV

LKP on TV TV:

Short Action Do stuff
Long Action Do other stuff

The DVD button goes into an infinite loop. The other ...

I've increase the macro time to 16 (originally was 2 ... I normally use 4) and the DVD
button still loops. I've cloned everything that's on the DVD button / associated with
the DVD mode to the AUX2 button. The results ... the AUX2 button works fine to control
the DVD player. The various LKP entries ...

It's a pleasure to hear from you. I've found your extenders to be very useful for years.
Also thanks for the suggestion regarding the macro time ... I'll post followups in the other thread.

In looking at a problem I'm having with the extender (mentioned in a separate thread)
I noticed that the RDF that comes with the extender is different from the RDF which
comes with RemoteMaster 2.07 ... the differences are:

Another random observation ... to get some DVD functionality I killed the existing DVD macro and LKP. I then changed the Shift DVD macro to be non shifted (that's
a long winded way of saying I just assigned the DVD LKP short action directly to the DVD button). That gets things going with just the ...

BTW: Any chance the source code to the 10820b00 and the 10820n extenders is available?

Not sure about getting lucky. The extender documentation says:

(1) Is there a keymove (which could be a Special Protocol function assignment) on this key in this device mode? If yes ...

Was happily using the urc-10820b00 extender for many years until
the buttons went on the my stash of that model. So I started in
on my (very small) stash of urc-10820n remotes. I loaded up the
urc-10820n extender, entered my device upgrades, macros, keymoves
and most things work as expected.

Well ... I should have done a better search on the board before posting.
As was pointed out this is a known problem and the work around is to
bind a NOP macro to the FAV key. I bound X_TV;X_CANCEL to FAV and
the problem went away.

FAV is defined as part of the Sony TV upgrade installed in my 10820 and it seems
to work fine (i.e. it sends the Sony FAV command which the TV responds to).

FAV is not defined in any other upgraded installed on the remote, nor does it appears
in any macros. However, if some device other then the TV ...

I found that changing the 8820 extender pause protocol to:

20 03 00 00 01 A6 EC AE 29 CD FF A1 A6 EC AE 29
CD FF A1 3B 60 EF 81

seems to make everything work correctly. Entering
14 seconds in IR results in the remote actually delaying
the proper amount of time according to my kitchen timer ...
