Are they learners?

Some Atlas OCAPs are...

Well, when I try the learning steps, the remote acts like it learned a new command. However, RMIR does not show any learned signals in learning memory. Now, what I didn't mention before is that when I connected to the remote, RMIR asks me if it ...

Thanks. You had me at backlight. Are they really as slim as they look? I remember the old Altlas being much thicker.

That picture is very 'flattering'. You know, like for the cover of Cosmo or something.

But I think these have the same thickness as my father-in-law's FiOS remote. That's the ...

my shnoop remotes came yesterday. Their memory is empty and I easily uploaded Cisco RNG200 device upgrades into them with my JP 1.3 USB cable.

Today, I saw this similar deal:

RNG200 (CABLE 1982) Device issues with RCU-810?

Should the XMP protocol and cable 1982 device upgrade be working on the RCU-810?

I've tried the official 1982: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=6301

and also the RNG200 rmir file: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=6232

both give the ...

No worries. Notice I apologized. When I started tweaking remotes, I had more time and patience. I just need simple and easy these days. I saw your 1-6 was the cable pinout correspondence with the older cable type so I converted to the 1-6 JP1 pinout for the purpose of gluing together. .

Re: Color cross chart for the $10 Fleabay Cable noted above

The JP1.3 pinout by color is:
[1] (Empty)
[2] Yellow
[3] Black
[4] Green
[5] (Empty)
[6] White

Where you can usually find pin numbers by peeking inside the remote.
...but I can't really complain. This interface was so easy to prepare, it felt like cheating. My soldering iron hates me. The six one ...

Yeah I like this remote. But none of the codes in the manual work with my devices. I have a usb cable coming from China so I should be able to migrate my upgrades from the htpro.

Thanks. I think I will pick one up and if I like the feel of it, maybe get a jp1.3 interface.

my last HTPro is barely working. Wife drops it on the hardwood floor at least three times a day. I've forbidden her from using my Harmony One at least until I can enjoy it for a few months.

Like some others, I've been out of the loop. I'm still milking a Parallel port JP1 cable I made a few years ...

my IR dongle arrived in the mail today, so I have test results!

Every command works. At first, I thought "more info" was not functioning, but it is only used so far in entering passcode combinations. It works.

Rob, you are amazing. Thank you everyone who contributed to the effort. I'm going to ...

Here's some PB tips. ...
The next step is to create a compatible upgrade and test the signal. It almost certainly won't work the first time, so you'll need a way to capture the learned signals so you can look at them to see what's wrong (ie, which part of the generated signal isn't what you were ...

"I like cheese"

that's what I say in response to a discussion so technical that I'm utterly lost.

I just ordered an IR dongle from vudu so that I can at least test the protocol upgrade.

Thanks kupaki, does one just have to fill in the protocol builder spreadsheet using values inferred from the ...

sweet fancy moses

I started reading the protocol builder docs. I'd like to tackle this as a way to give back to JP1...although my binary and hex skillz are way rusty. I'll have to set aside some time this weekend. But if any of the gurus want to take a stab at it, be my guest!

OK, I appreciate the clarification. In following the template, there was no reference to IRtool, but it's good information to have for the future.

There is no rush for this task. I have to order an IR dongle before I can even test it out. Then, I have to find the time to do the JP1 upgrade.

I ...
