I should have said, I need a remote with no branding (e.g. "Comcast"). Generic branding OK (e.g. OneForAll).

I really need a more reliable source that eBay. I tried the UEI route before, unless you are buying 5,000 they aren't interested in helping. I can make 5000 myself, the point of going JP1 ...

JP1 remote, current source for small quantities of new JP1?

I used to be able to "round up" for All-for-one remotes for my needs for about $7 in small quantities. Those are gone.

Does anyone know a source for some inexpensive JP1 remotes? I need new remotes, ready to program, and I just need to program 4 buttons so I need (want) cheap remotes.

I use these ...

Oops. Yes, thanks. It is a 6820, not 6830.

I edited it to correct it. Thanks again.

Several new URC-6820 OFA remotes for sale

Guys:

I was using the URC-6820 as an OEM remote for a device I manufacture. I have recently made my own remote that has only the 4 buttons I actually needed. Prototype functional, parts to build a few hundred of my new remote on order now.

As soon as those parts arrive (~3-4 weeks to arrive and ...

Nils & John:

The 9-8-1 reset appears to be a sucessful workaround, although the setup code apparently has to be something other than what I chose originally.

I played th e981 reset with it and it seemed to be working. Note that at the time I tried this, I had arbitrairly tries a different setup ...

It did not work. I did the setup, 9-8-0 reset, opened a new 8820 file in IR, downloaded from the remote, pasted my upgrade from KM, and uploaded. I did not get any checksum errors in the process.

I tried moving my functions to the number keys 1-5, changed device to 0000/TV, no luck, still works ...

new 8820 upgrade, arrow buttons not working

I have a new upgrade I've created for a URC-8820.

I am using a new JP1.2 cable, keymap master 9.08, and IR ver 7.0 beta

It is Sony 12/15 protocol, device 17 (for testing, soon to be changed).

I have the device type as TV and the device code at 2012, which appears to be unique to the remotes ...

Thanks for the idea, but I think it would make me look to cheap :) to include a comcast remote. If I'm not going to buy a device specific remote, I need to at least use a generic one. And it does need to be new.

I think you're better of with JP1.2 rather than JP1.

If I understand you correctly, you would be doing the programming and shipping the remote, not the cable, to your customers (so the slightly higher cost of a JP1.2 cable vs. JP1 isn't a big deal).

There seem to be several online sources for the ...

Is 10 all you need or would you be looking to buy bulk quantities (eg, units of 100 or more) later? The device being controlled is being built in groups of 25. Hard to say how many will sell, wish I knew. And hard to say how many will want a remote since I am providing the Pronto and HTM files, and ...

Source for JP1 in quantity

I'm making a new doodad that is controlled by IR. I can program a JP1 to do be the remote or go source a custom remote. JP1's may be the less expensive option.

Can someone suggest a readily avail JP1 remote and a place to get them? Cheaper the better. Simpler the better. Typically the end user will ...

Hi guys, just an update/followup. That was the correct code for the integrated wireless headphones. I have it mapped to the "guide" button in the posted file. My friend fially was able to get the remote from me and test to confirm.

Thanks very much for everyone's help. Much appreciated as always ...
