JP1 Remotes

I am curious to know what the coil in the URC8910-9910 is. It appears to be hot glued in. They break loose and rattle. I remove them with no trouble. What is the function of the coil?

I love the 8910/9910 remotes. I enjoyed assigning macro keys and the upgrades from this great site. As they are now pretty much gone, what is the next best thing?

Can Keymap Master receive the cut and pasted upgrade?

Is it possible to receive an wav. upgrade from OneForAll support, capture the upgrade using IR.exe and paste it back to keymapmaster?

I would like to take the upgrade to other remotes

I am having a problem uploading and downloading to an 8910. The error summed up says that my cable is wrong or the memory exceeds the capacity of the IR application. I have tried a factory reset with no success. Help!!!

I have the same symptoms mentioned here, but on OforA 8910's. I get memory fault after uploading a known good file. I have tried ops reset, but hoping there is the same Manufacturers Reset you mentioned for the Radio Shack remote.

What is the value of the led's on the 8910's

Also, can they be snapped apart. I would like to try adding 2 as they are very directional.
