I have your exact TV/DVD with satellite and it works perfectly with JP1 remotes. I'm the one that put up the KM file that usblipitor mentioned and included a link to that has all the commands for this set.
This TV/DVD is NOT supported with ANY of the normal universal remotes you can buy at ...

Just wanted to mention that if you get to the point where need a KM file to do an upgrade for your Yamaha RX-V440, the Yamaha HTR-56xx models are very close if not identical. Last I looked they're weren't any on the JP1 Yahoo site for the RX-V440 but several for the HTR series and they should ...

I'm assuming what you want is for the volume buttons on the remote to always control the receiver instead of the TV. If that's the case there's a neat little feature of the remote called Virtual Punch Through that lets you assign what device the audio buttons will always control. In IR look at ...

Thanks, I hadn't looked on Yahoo. It still might be useful to add quick "translation" instructions since some of these sites use different terms then we're used to. Might save some future posts too. I'll be adding an updated receiver 0176 KM with the 2-dev codes for all the new Yamaha features as ...

List websites of manufacturer IR codes
Is there a list of links to all the TV, VCR, etc manufacturers web sites that publish the IR codes for their products? A few weeks ago, I spent hours trying every EFC combination to try to discover extended codes for my Yamaha home theater. Then yesterday I discovered that Yamaha's web site http ...

I went back to Radio Shack to look at their new remote that includes a USB cable. The model number is RS 15-2130 and it features a three line LCD. I read through the info on the packaging and it looks like the USB cable is used to download TV listings from the net and copy them over to the remote ...

Best Remote to Use
The RS 15-2116 allows you to program macro's to just about any key including the device keys. I've just set up my home theater and every device key has a macro that flips the receiver to the right input, adjusts the TV input to compensate for the fact that VCR's can't be component, but everything ...

Problems with NEC1 2DEV Combo
I have a Toshiba TV/VCR/DVD Combo. The TV part works using TV 0156 which is a NEC1 with a 64 device. The VCR and DVD buttons on the orginal remote handle those functions by sending out NEC1 with a 68 device. So I figured I could use NEC1 2DEV Combo to send out the 64 or 68 depending on the buttons ...

Jon,
Thanks. The 1609 uses 133:106 for the audio commands, but also 133:154 for the DVD commands like Play (this RCA Home Theater has a built in DVD player). I switched to NEC1 Combo once I started finding the 154 sub device on some keys, but when I did my original post I was still assuming straight ...
