Rob, I have my win 2000 set up so there's no password, and everyone logs on automatically as administrator, could the problem be there?

possible clue to balky interface

I'll try that software Nils, thanks. I don't think the printer port has a conflict with another driver, as I'm on a home network, my printer ports to the print server on my router. I'm using Windows 2000, by the way.

possible clue to balky interface

Ok, quick summary, new laptop won't work with interface, remote is the same urc-8810b00 from walmart that worked on my old laptop. Checked and compared the printer and parallel port settings, same on both. I've tried fresh batteries, pulled one out, reversed one, "no response from remote". My only ...

new laptop

I've used my interface and this exact remote (8810b00) successfully with a previous laptop, now I have an IBM thinkpad t23, can't get the three to play nice. Are there parallel port settings that need to be changed, i.e. bidirectional, EPP, enable legacy plug and play, etc., that could be the ...

prismiq keyboard to ir laptop?

Wife doesn't want two keyboards laying around the living room, my Thinkpad has IR capabilities. Does anyone know if there's a way to get the laptop to work as a prismiq keyboard? I've taken care of the prismiq remote on my 8810.

Home theater as device key

I thought I read this somewhere, but I can't find it.....can I use the Home Theater key on my 8810w as another device key? Since it doesn't appear in the drop down boxes in IR when assigning an upgrade to a device key, how would one go about this, if at all?

Prismiq media player "manual settings" in protocol

Ok, I want to put my prismiq remote on my 8810, so I downloaded the prismiq.zip file, opened the "most keys" file in km. I'm confused by the manual settings in the protocol box, can anyone talk me through that? All I'm really interested in is power, arrow keys, select, and fast forward (next) key (I ...

Ok, I finally got the +10 and +100 keys on aux, since +100 had a subdevice of 72, I had to do them separately, with keymoves over to the CD key. So now everything is working the way I want, tonight I'll try a few macros. I do have a lot of moves listed in the keymoves tab, which are taking up quite ...

I take it most of you experts are into RM instead of KM, so KM no longer gets updated? By the way, had some success getting the +100 key to work on another NEC protocol, though it's not working now, might have to upload the saved file, if I didn't make a mistake saving it......however, the +10 key ...

John, if you could provide me with a link to the latest devices4 file, and/or how do you tell what version of that you have, it's not clear on that file.

Thanks for the detailed post John. I downloaded the latest version of devices4 (I think, the one posted now at hifi-remote), thinking that might be a problem, I think it's one from 10/04. That file generated a device1 and device2 of 182. What I will do, if I'm following you correctly, is leave ...
