I was actually building the device upgrade off an older Pioneer file I had. It had most of the codes I already needed, and this was one of the ones I was stuck on. It'll take me a little while to map everything from 4dev to mix, but it looks straightforward. Thanks!

Ah, that's very interesting. This should do it. Huge thanks for keeping JP1 alive all these years, it's amazing what this community has done!

RMDU 4Dev where parts are from 2 diff device codes

Hi Folks, Been a while since I've played with JP1, and I've run across an odd code that I can't add as a Function into RMDU. So far, whenever I've had to use the Pioneer 4dev protocol, whenever I run into a 2-part code, both parts are still coming from the same device code.

Right now though, I've ...

Differences between 15-2116 and URC9910

I've built an upgrade using a pioneer 4DEV protocol on both a 15-2116 and URC9910 to control a Pioneer VSX-40 Elite receiver, but I find that the 15-2116 does not reliably turn on the receiver using Discrete ON codes or consistently change inputs - I need to hold down the remote button to sustain ...

I found this suggestion in another forum to get 'unsigned' drivers working in Windows 7.

From the command line, run the following two commands:
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON

Can anyone give this a try on Win7-64 to see if the good 'ol ...

Well, just to follow up with my previous post, I "downgraded" to Windows7 32-bit (from Win7-64bit). The Parallel Interface works with IR again!

So, I'm going to stick with Win7-32bit.

I'm curious though - has anyone had any success using the Parallel Interface with any 64-bit version of Windows ...

I'm running into the same issue - I can't get the Parallel interface to work in IR 8.01, when using Windows-7 64-bit. It was working with Vista 32-bit.

When selecting "Interface --> Driver Status..." I originally got the error:
Serial/Parallel Error: Unable to open Service Control Manager. Please ...

Denon UEI remotes?

It looks like a couple of years back (2005) some of the mid end - high end Denon receivers (2808ci and higher) started to use a remote made by UEI:

Cool project... it would be nice if we could control JP1 remotes via a PC. For those of us with HTPC's, it's a good way to remotely blast IR signals short of going out and buying a USB IR thingy.

Okay, it's been a while since I had a chance to try defining [ButtonMaps], and I'm not sure I've been very successful. Here's why.

I started by updating the RDF with all key codes defined within [ButtonMaps], I then created a device upgrade that maps to all keys. I figured that any keys that didn't ...

Help Defining a new RDF File

Okay, I've been trying to develop a device upgrade for this remote, and I've come to realize that I need to further update the [ButtonMaps] section of the RDF.... From what I can tell, the [ButtonMaps] section is used by RM / KM to determine what buttons can be mapped directly, vs. mapped as a Key ...

Thanks for the pointers... I've gotten the buttons defined -- it was pretty straight forward - Updated RDF is here:

Do I need to define the [Protocols] section? If so, how?

Thanks,

Hah. I can't count buttons. It's a 4-device remote (I thought the 'set' button said 'sat'). It looks remarkably like this guy here:
