JP1 Remotes

Just upgraded to MacOS 11.3, and sandbox is still denying access to settings.bin, even though I granted java and JavaLauncher Full Disk Access.

I'm getting the same error with RemoteMaster v2.12.15 and Java 16 JRE on an M1 MacBook Air running MacOS Big Sure 11.2.3. From the rmaster.err file:

Is there a Mac driver other than the libjp12serial.jnilib that's included with the RemoteMaster file?

Hmm... spoke too soon. The macro works to "click" down through the menus, but when you get to an input field where you use the arrow to pick a letter Ouija-board style and then use Select to pick it... you get double letters.

OBC 092 alone works better. A custom executor would probably be even ...

It will be interesting to see if the macro works. The original signal doesn't have any "repeat pattern" inbetween the first 2 parts, whereas the macro will. If the macro doesn't work, we may need to create a custom executor to make it work.

So each WW0 call is about 0.5 ms (500 microseconds), and your change would be to do pauses in chunks of about 200 WW0 calls for 100 ms granularity? Seems fine, but 50 ms might be even better, unless that complicates things. Anyway, I'd say go for it.

I haven't used your extender yet, but I can't imagine being inconvenienced by the lack of sub-100 ms pause. On the other hand, 25 seconds seems like a really long time... How many WW0 calls does it take to get the current maximum 130 ms?

I think we're getting somewhere now, IIUC you are using a standard US Tivo which responds to the standard VCR/0618 setup code. You are using an upgrade, but it's based on the 0618 code (ie, it uses the official $0111 Tivo protocol).

1) Which JP1 remote are you using to control your Tivo?
2) Are you using an upgrade (which one?) or a built in setup code (VCR/0618 perhaps?)

Thanks, that worked. Unfortunately, the codes for known buttons in VCR/0618 don't match what's in this new file. Maybe that's because Cisco/Virgin is using a completely different set of IR codes. But in any case, there's no Subtitle button in the Functions tab.
