6131 Type Remote with Backlighting

I like the 6131 remote (I believe I have the correct number -- the one which has DVR buttons), but I've been waiting forever for OFA to come out with a backlighted version. Is there a model that I don't know about or is one due anytime in the near future?

I don't care for the "square" bulky kind ...

So it seems that there is little, if any, concern for hot-swapping/hot-switching LPT ports. What was the concern in the past -- I have seen this as a standard of practice in published literature.

The comment about static surges would seem to have the best foundation -- is this because the LPT to ...

I had always heard NOT to change LPT connections with power on. I have an AB switch that I have printer and JP1 interface connected to. Based on past instructions, I always power down before changing from one to the other. I know that USB can be hot-switched, but I thought that LPT could not ...

Surface Mount DIP Socket

Has anyone tried mounting a DIP socket for installing EEPROM's? It would allow one to try different configurations without soldering a different chip in each time, and the circuit boards are a little delicate and won't take too many changes?

I can find the chips with DIP packaging, but I can't find ...

No, that's a fallback option that I probably should have tried first. I was hoping that someone knew that it was compatible with xyz player. That would have made thing easier.

Polaroid DVP-1000 DVD

Does anyone know setup codes for Polaroid DVP-1000 DVD player. It may be manufactured by someone else and their codes might be compatible.

This is a new player and I can't find a thing on products made by Polaroid.

It just hit me several minutes after posting my reply, I need to enter 2-4-3 not 2-3-4. 2-4-3 Zones works.

Thanks

If I get no feedback on the screen what do I do after entering 2-3-4 Zones? Seems like there should be a prompt or feedback of some sort.

Thanks--

Multiple ReplayTV Problem

I have a Panasonic Showstopper (ReplayTV 2000) and a new ReplayTV 5000 that I would like to operate with one remote. I have tried to set the system up on a RCA RCU810 remote. I tried as best I could to follow instructions in all the post that I could find.

I used 614 setup from Yahoo Files section ...

What Does @ Mean

Could someone explain to me what @ means in KeyMaster Spreadsheet.

I read on the sheet that it had something to do with moves, but how does it work -- and example would help.

If you still have all the pieces you can probably do an acceptable job using "superglue". Model or Hobby shops have it and also sell an accelerator to speed up curing. You can also get it from Home Depot with Loctite brand. HD doesn't sell accelerator for it. I have used the thick "filling" formula ...

Using Google Search Engine on Hi-Fi Remote Site

Perhaps some of you like to use Google search engine. You can use it to search on an individual site as well as the entire WWW. To search at this site, things will work easier if you have the Goggle toolbar (get that free from Google).

Go to JP1 forum and click on "Search Web" on the Goggle Toolbar ...

URC-7800 Cinema 7 Wanted - found

Does anyone know where I might buy a URC-7800 (Cinema 7) remote? I like the size and feel of it and would like to buy a couple more if they are still available. I can add JP1 pins myself.

Adding RF by Replacing Battery

I've seen a system advertised which replaces one AA battery in a 2-AA remote with a shorter 1.5v battery and fills the vacant space with a RF transmitter. Does anyone have experience with this system?

The vendor whose ad I saw said that support for AAA batteries would be coming soon. Is this system ...
