Yeah in my case I took a Logitech remote and brought over the MCE remote controls. The discrete on and off work, but power toggle doesn't. Wish there was a way to hack the bios updates for the NUC and add in my own wake from sleep IR codes as it's a nightmare. Even though Intel's website ...

This is going to sound funny, but yours is probably older than mine. What I've learned in the forums at Intel is they seem to be following this process:

1. Come out with a new NUC.
2. NUC only listens to RC-6 commands and seems only the original MCE remote.
3. People complain about their remotes ...

More I think about this the more pointless it is. My thoughts and always open for corrections:

- When the device is on and in Windows, Windows registry or an app is defining what it does with each code the remote sends to the IR port.
- When the unit is in sleep mode, the operating system becomes ...

Thanks, Alt-F4 was just an example. I've got that on my list to test. This is a separate project.

I'm having a problem that NO RC6 remotes are compatible with the IR receiver I'm using for whatever reason other than my JP1 based remote that has been programmed with Harmony media center commands ...

convert remote code to ReportMappingTable hex code?

Probably not the intent of the group, but does anyone know if there is a way to extract the power button command for a particular remote in my programmable remote, and convert that to the appropriate hex code to append to the ReportMappingTable field in the Windows registry? Would be like under ...

Not to deviate the original convo, however will an external dongle allow you put the device asleep or wake up, and if physically off, turn it back on? I know my NUC has a "yellow" USB port for charging when off or on if you have it enabled, but not sure that any of the ports are physically active ...

MCE keyboard NUC

Hi folks. I'm still here. Just watching all the magic happen. When I get home today will test this out. Note with the comment on the NUC and IR. There are known issues with the IR port disappearing in Windows and in other OS's ...

RMIR v2.05 build 1 is now available for beta testing. Download it here, from the SourceForge RMIR Development Folder . This is a full installation package that you need to unzip into an empty folder (and one that is not read-only). It is intended to provide complete replacement support for XSight ...

Yep, I know that's what I'm doing because I would think that's how it should work. In my own mind. Or can't the XSight or other remotes RemoteMaster support handle how Harmony remotes work. The power button, like every other button, is set to a certain function or macro, based on the activity you ...

side note, I tested today and the remote itself doesn't really store the commands. All the power buttons will flip on/off the DVR. As a matter of fact, the discrete on for my Toshiba even turns on the DVR.

I can say before I close the project it may work with the remote. I have one of the devices here I'm working with and it did turn it off. And not the DVR which is the one they all go back to when you exit and go back to the project.

If I could give a theory. I have the TV set on all three ...

One other issue. So I have three Macros. One to turn the TV off, the next to turn off everything related to my DVR (i.e. TV and DVR), the third to turn off MCE (i.e. TV and my mini Kodi PC). I assigned to the Activity Group Assignment for "Power" the TV Macro for the Watch TV activity. Assumption is ...

Cool, interesting though that some of the discrete settings would vanish and wouldn't be kept in the remote like HDMI 2, but 1 and 3 stick around.

Maybe I'm missunderstanding how the program works, however if I do something in remotemaster, and then upload it to the remote, downloading it back down should return the same results no?

Thanks.
