Mark Pierson created one for me but he didn;t share the process secret. I hate to bother people with stuff like this so I'd also like to see a faq on this. And thx again to Mark for his help.

For me placing buttons is trial and error. I just try to make sure that the buttons choices make sense and are intuitive. Sometimes, I am left with a poor choice so I try to set these up where it makes for the least movement of my thumb. This way, it makes button surfing a lot easier.

I love my 8910. Had a 9800 for a long time before that. I never had a use for the remote commander though with the 9800. It has to sit in eyeline with your equipment and be plugged into an electrical outlet. So imagine it sitting on the table next to your couch or something. Sounds like you really ...

yay! some success. I put the 1 4 in the byte code column and it did fix the problem with the aspect key. The PIP functions don't work at all however. Even with the factory code the didn't work. So, I'll have to learn all the keys and then see what codes I get out of it. thanks again.

cool. Thanks mark. I had already added the aspect to the functions and did the button assign. But as you and john say, I think the 1 4 missing kept it from working. Will try tonight.

yeah there it is. Sub-Device 4. The other learned signals are on Subdevice 0.

So in KM, can I input subdevice 4 in the device section?

In which section do I put 4?

Device1: 128
Dev2 / Sub 2:
Dev3 / Sub 3:
Dev4 / Sub 4:
Dev5 / Sub 5:
Sub-Dev 6:

and for reference, the info from the learned ...

Thanks Mark. It works just fine.

One weird thing however. The aspect button from the original remote does not work if I put the codes in manual and set it to a button on the remote. But if I learn the button, I can see the codes it learns and they are the same as I plugged into KM. Any ideas as to ...

Thanks Mark. Had a sick kiddo last night so I didn't get to check the thread. I'll try tonight.

I also noticed that on the other Panny CT upgrades they used Device=128. So this will get me started. I think I will also try the codes on some of the other panny upgrades to get some of the missing ...

Ahh I see. So, no way to read the data in IR.

About code 0000, sorry, I wasn't clear enough. That is for the old TV. The new TV is code 0650.

Hmm, looks like this is going to be a lengthy process. Thanks for the info.

Mark,

I was afraid you were going to say that. Ok, so if that is the case, is this where I get that data?

That is a shot of my current remote setup. It is set for a sony tv, device code 0000. Are lines 0000 thru 0030 the lines that would hold the code data? Are ...
