Thanks for all the work over the years, Rob.

One ask - if you end up taking the site down, would it be possible to archive the files section (in a .zip?, I'm not sure what the internal structure is) so it could be made available elsewhere (github?)? archive.org doesn't archive the files.

I just added an RMDU for the 2024 Hisense U8N series. Lots more codes than the existing Hisense RMDUs. Lightly tested, not entirely sure about some functions, but I did include all that seemed to cause an action. YMMV

Roku has a personal shortcuts feature when using their Voice Enhanced/Pro remotes. It lets you associate a key to a shortcut, which can be to any channel. The keys (there are 2 available) always send the same RF code, the action is programmed in the Roku itself. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be ...

Function code and "F" as in the column labeled "F" in IRScrutinizer.

From the IRScrutinizer docs:
The "Generate" pane
In the upper part of this pane, an IR protocol is selected, identified by name, and the parameters D ("device", in almost all protocols), S ("sub-device", not in all protocols), F ...

If we notice that the signals increment on the right, like normal binary, we call them MSB
That would be exactly backwards, if by "right" you're referring how binary/hex numerals are written. The bits at the right are the least significant (represent the smallest numbers), and are called LSB ...

I'm very familiar with hex and bit based operations. If it's the HEX which gets sent, and the most significant bit which doesn't matter to the function, then this needs explanation, taken from the RMDU you posted (which I linked to above) :

function;OBC;HEX
Arrow Left;30;78
App:Walmart Video;31;F8 ...

I dont' pretend to understand it all, but according to this page ( http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4633 ), it's the hex which is sent, not the OBC:

"The Hex command is the data the protocol executor uses to transmit the signal."

Something strange with Roku Official protocol and RMDUs.

I've been searching for undocumented Roku commands. I was using IRScrutinizer with a GIRS board. It won't accept OBD codes above 127. I suppose because the IRP protocol definition has this: "F:7" Similarly, RMPB has this: "CmdParms=OBC:7", which I think limits that.

RMDU won't accept OBCs >127 ...

You can, but there are more devices I need to switch between than activity keys (without using shifted ones). Plus, I'd prefer it work like my other remotes.

Can't Key Move to device buttons?

I have a 3660, but am posting here because they're the same, only different, and there's more activity here than in the 3660 thread.

I understand the limitation of not being able to assign macros to device buttons. But, I really want to - with my existing remotes, I use macros on them to change ...

Did I break my RCRP05B?

Old one was wearing out, got a new one and uploaded the rmir I've been using. I screwed up and didn't install the extender first, but did bypass the warning, and now the remote is non-functional. Trying to download or upload from Remote Master fails with "remote not found." The CBL/SAT light does ...

I think the "ultimate" remote wouldn't need to be programmable at all. It would be a relatively dumb remote with a good key layout which simply sent keycodes via RF to a flexible base station. RF (Bluetooth low energy), so it doesn't need to be line of site. Two way with some status lights for the ...

Also, just an import, name/PID change, export loses all the code.
You need to select the code and use the "Import to Assembler" button to get the code included in the export. Perhaps you didn't do that? No I didn't, but it wasn't intuitive that I should have to. But, reading the notes under "Hex ...

Issue with VariantName?

Just playing with RMPB.

Import "Denon-K" (has a pre-existing VariantName of "2"), change Name to "Denon-K.mjs" and PID to "01 DE". VariantName untouched. Export to Denon-K.mjs.prot.

The resulting .prot file will not import, because the VariantName is saved as:
VariantName=javax.swing.JTextField ...
