Thanks guys, that's exactly what i needed to know. I'm still playing/trying to figure out the potential of the 8810w, I was looking at the kameleon strictly for the glam of it. I would solder in the pin's , pogo pins are pretty sh*&^% to use, Ebay is selling the 9960 in the $40 range, if the 8810w ...

8810w VS. 9960 kameleon
I'm looking at buying the 9960 kameleon remote, already have the 1 in all 8810w, that is working fine for me, does the 9960mhave the 6 pin interface , will I gain any functionality or option other than the obvious kameleon thing???? I'm only looking at about $10-15 to trade up...

OK, I was able to get rid of the errors, bad character by selecting " disable embedded notes" however the the remote is still only partially functional. I would like to get past this step so I can get on with altering my button choices, whoever did the upload left a couple in undesireable locations ...

hey, I'm having trouble with that one also, when I try to upload pansat receiver text to my directv ver2 (blue) remote I get some nonsense it all "seems" to work, but nothing when I go to the box. the device code is there when I download from remote. Tried another (two other) .txt files for dish 301 ...
