Ok. Thanks for clearing me up on that. Will do. And I guess uploading to Diag is the right place?

What John means is this.

Step 1: Learn the signals from your 4200 remote using the Omni and save it as the first file.

Step 2: Learn the signals from some other remote and save that as the second ...

Re: Code search 4200c follow-up

Hmmm let's see if I understand:

It's a little hellish without having the users guide for the reciever...

By appearances the original INRC-42 remote appears to only control the 4200 sat receiver. So if this is what you mean by only one device, it's a safe bet that you will see only one device in ...

Code search 4200c follow-up

Happy New Year one and all...

After a little ebay searching I found the correct remote for my 4200c. And it works.

Now I do not have a learning remote, but do own a palm pilot, and wonder if the site would benefit from a learned output file generated by omni-remote for the palm? Just downloaded ...

Yes I did. Still no go so far. I'll plug away at it though. There's quite possibly a pilot error somewhere -- been known to happen to me. FWIW the original factory remote model # is INRC-42. Does this mean anything to anyone here? Didn't pop up in Forums search.

Happy Holidays!

Did you assign all ...

Results so far with DSR 4200, Sat/0627 & Co

So far the most useful results come from my urc-7200 (non jp1 type) with code 0869. What works is:

Menu
Blue arrows(4) Channel changes et cetera
mute
Vol Up/Dn
previous channel
enter
number keypad
from the PiP section:
on/off seems to clear the display banner.

The posted 4200 file gives me the ...

Cool Thanks!...I;ll give it a whirl.. and let you all know!

I tuned John's link into a KM file upgrade here

IIRC, you must use OBC's with the KM Upgrade for the hacked protocol which is what I did. I tested the numerals an all seems OK.

You must add the device and protocol upgrade for this to ...

Thanks to you John a d Rob for the nudge in the right direction... I'll summarize the key ...

Great idea...Ill do a detailed survey of the buttons and post back. Thanks Chief!

I've just looked through my files at all the setup codes that use the GI 4DTV protocol and they all have the same codes for the numeric buttons and POWER, so I don't think SAT/0869 is the answer here.

Just like ...

I've tried all the codes I have listed....The box is pre-Motorola Days though but It was worth a shot...

Thanks
Herbie wrote:Have you tried any codes listed for Motorola boxes?

GI was bought by Motorola in 2000, but some of the product naming was slower to take over.

Request for General Instrument DSR-4200c Upgrade

Howdy....

As the subject says, I'm looking for an upgrade for a DSR-4200c sat receiver.

The device code 627 gives me 'vague' functions on a few keys: Wrong mapping though and Wont Power off or on. I also put this code into my Cinema7 URC-7200 (nonJP interface type) and got some functionality a few ...

Double key press needed after upgrade

Howdy;

I was fooling around with the Echostar 1775 upgrade and something odd happened. The buttons pretty much worked as advertised in the 1775 file, though I needed to press each button twice to get and release the functions. So to get the Menu I need to press menu twice, and so on...

Why might ...

Success at last!

If you open the upgrade in RM and paste the device upgrade into IR then power agrees (0xDF). In the device upgrade already installed in MaestroII_Diag.txt the power button is 0xAF. I noticed that Info and Power in the device upgade were both 0xDF in Pansat2500FTASatelliteReceiver.rmdu

Perhaps that ...

Re: Diagnostic request

Are "epg" and "sat signal" commands on the OEM remote? As far as I can tell, the upgrade has a power and mute function defined and assigned to those buttons respectively.
Yes the OEM remote has a button for epg and sat signal. But like I said the mapping doesnt turn out the way RM sees it ...

Diagnostic request

please zip your RM and IR files together and post them into the Diagnosis Area. Then please post a link to your file. Also, PLEASE read the link in my sig that explains how to post links to yahoo files as you will 100% guaranteed post a bad link if you don't read it first (trust me on this).

I've ...

Re: Build an interface. Now I'm lost.

Okay heres the question: Someone posts a upgrade file for APEXTVmymodel.txt. Is it a simple matter of pasting that file into IR.exe under windows and then uploading it to the remote and voila! ?
You need to first open the upgrade in either KM or RM and change the selected remote to match the model ...
