Well, I did work out a deal with Phil (pH7_jp1) and his turn around time in modifying the units was terrific - as was his communication.

Units arrived before back to me before I'd even had a chance to order my JP1.3 cable.

Just posting so that anyone else looking for modding work might know that ...

Has any hacking been done on this remote?

I now have two RC65RX remotes for my HR24-100 DTV DVRs.

Unfortunately, the DirecTV programming features (from the DVR) don't fully understand my receiver downstairs (JVC 1028) nor my TV upstairs (whatever the store brand is at Best Buy).

I'd love to bring all the programming across from my 6131 ...

15-100 Modification - I'll pay or trade

I have several 15-100's - bought all the units at my local Radio Shack's. Unfortunately, I don't even have the skill-set to correctly pry open the units.

Anyone out there want to do the JP1 mod for either pay per unit or trade a few of my remotes for the work?

Success

It may not be perfect, but it seems to be doing everything it should.

My long key press macro triggers all the right devices in the right order.

Now a LPK on DVD, PVR or VCR gets the audio on (if off) and to the right audio input, the TV on (if off) the HDMI switcher to the right input (if ...

I just did a web site search for zip codes in the areas where either I am or where 'I have people'. Then I just called the stores which showed up as having inventory. Some had it, some didn't.

Now to find someone competent with a drill and soldering iron.

RS 15-100

I just bought the last two 15-100's at my local 'Shack. $4.97 each.

I'm actually going to need a prayer getting the modifications done (I'm not a tools-skilled kind of guy). That's tomorrow's problem.

You may be able to search around on the Radio Shak website filling in any zip codes near you to ...

Vicky,

Perhaps the 'best' response I'm looking for would simply answer "Which of the the options I laid out - 1,2 or 3 - is the correct way to access Dev7/8.

If I need to upload the 2 IR files, I'm happy to do that.

I have since remapped my VCR to 7 and the WD TV Live to VCR (since I can't ...

I posted this in the Extenders, but I'm copying it here since it is still a continuation of our discussion (sorry for the double post).

I have Dev7 (WD TV Live) and Dev8 (HDMI switch) programmed into the remote -URC6131. I built the upgrade for the HDMI switch.

These devices are triggered by a ...

Captured Signals for HDMI switch - 2 issues

I have a Meritline 4x1 HDMI switch with audio.

I captured the signals from the remote, and 2 of them seem to have issues -

The power button has 2 protocols, and when I use the learned signal to turn the switch off, I can't toggle it back on again except with the original remote

The Mute button ...

The HDMI switcher is from Meritline. It looks exactly like the Monoprice 4 Port with audio switcher (4 ports - 3 back/1 front, 2 CH/5.1 CH buttons, same layout, IR port location - everything is the same except the seller).

In my first attempt I used a downloaded Monoprice upgrade file. I'll either ...

Getting Close

OK, my macro partially works (which is good).

It seems my long keypress macro partially works
It seems that a short keypress/keypress triggers the macro

I don't seem to have all of the X_PVR options where X = C, P, O,T. I only seem to have T,V, O. I'm assuming that the C was a mistype for V (could ...

Parallel to USB converters - will they work?

I have a JP1 remote and a parallel JP1 cable.

My current PC doesn't have a legacy parallel port.

Does anyone know if a USB to parallel adapter ($4) will allow me to use my old cable? I have other machines which have a parallel port, so I don't need a new cable, but for convenience it would be nice ...

Examples for programming long key presses, etc. in KM

I have a 6131 which has served us very well. I just purchased several new devices (WD TV Live and a 4 port HDMI switch) which will require changes to the programming.

Given how the switch works and the fact that I have a single HDMI input on my TV, it seems that long keypresses (or some other ...
