IR 6.20 Now Available

I have just posted a new version of IR that changes the order in which the AdvCode section is written when rows are moved. This should "fix" an issue for people who use an extender to bind the same key to a KeyMove (or SpecialProtocol) and a Macro.

Again, the issue isn't a matter of how IR natively stores AdvCode entries... It's how it handles things when rows are moved within a grid. Prior to v6, SP entries were displayed in the KeyMoves grid, so they were sorted together (before the macros) when an item was moved. Now that they're in ...

I just want to make sure that we're all on the same page here...

As far as I can remember, IR doesn't change the order of entries in the AdvCode section. It maintains them in the order in which it read them, and adds new entries to the end of the list. The only time it changes the order is when the ...

IR 6.10 Now Available

I have just posted a version of IR that supports the new learned code format in the URC-9960B01. It may also fix a communication problem with old (non-standard) parallel ports, but I have been unable to have that tested up to this point.

Sorry, but I haven't had time to do anything beyond this ...

IR 6.00 Now Available

I have just posted the release version of IR 6.00. This incorporates fixes for all of the remaining issues that I'm aware of.

If you are already using one of the pre-release versions then this will simply fix a few minor issues. Otherwise please read the release notes for detailed information. Here ...

The latest version of IR supports "unknown" special protocols. In other words, if a special protocol is defined in the RDF but IR doesn't know what to do with it, it will be listed in the special protocols page and handled generically. (The user will be able to enter the data via hex commands.)

The ...

The problem is that Delphi has very limited support for RichEdit controls, and I haven't been able to figure out how to implement columns. I'm literally breaking the strings myself, which is why you're having trouble pasting.

There are 3 options here. I could figure out how to add columns, I could ...

you didn't, I hope, kill entry by key names.
It's an option. If you check the "Hex" checkbox, then the Hex edit control is displayed (and everything else is grayed out). If the Hex checkbox is unchecked then it will work the same as it currently does in RC3. Note that the Hex is not validated, so ...

I'm still not completely following all of the issues... probably because I don't have much experience with EC. Nonetheless, I've added the option to enter hex (rather than using the SP-specific controls) for SP values. (Is that one of the things you're looking for?) I've also added a HexCmd column ...

Several reasons/explanations applying to me:
1. Extender instructions for 8910 and 7800c7 speak strict hex for good reason. While IR builder of SP and the display help along to use those instructions, I still like to have that concrete, final, feedback of the bits being set the way I intended.
2 ...

Maybe you could add an option to the RDFs where if it's checked, IR would display the setup codes in this pseudo-base4 style. Of course, I would then ask for an option to override this! :)
Does this apply mostly to old remotes, or is it something that UEI is just beginning to do? (Just trying to ...

I see.

It wouldn't be a big deal to add it, but I'm still not sure why it would be valuable. It's on the KeyMove page because that IS the value of the KeyMove. (The EFC is simply a scrambled form of the same KeyMove.)

There is no HexCmd on the Macros page because IR is able to display the complete ...

Some old code was scrambling the notes index. I've just posted 6.00 RC3. Please verify that this corrects the problem.

Re: HELP - 1st POST

When I opened it in Keymap and copied the upgrade to IR and pasted it in the Upgrade Device in the ADD section and I click 'OK' is asks me if I want to assign 'Audio 1313' to a device button. I answered yes but didn't know which to select. When I selected 'RCVR' (thinking receiver) I get the error ...
