Greg you are correct all macros were issued from IR.

here is where I stand, partial success:

1) per Jon, the Zenith DVB318 will power on from off by issuing the play command.

2) discrete on: again per Jon, the PLAY/STOP command will act as discrete on (no matter how many times the command is ...

Guys, I gave it a try and had very limited success. I created these macros in RM and loaded them into the 8810 via IR. Testing had mixed results.

The DVB318 does come on when a macro issues Play/stop. that piece seems to work.

When a macro issues the Play/power toggle=off, the system toggles ...

Jon, sounds like this may be a solution. I must be brain dead because your reply is not connecting with me. I am using a 8810 remote and programming it with RM and IR. Not working with an extender.

Not sure how you "try the play command from off".
additionally, the Macro expression "Play/stop=on ...

Sub0, great job. I downloaded the file and it looks very complete. I have tried all the functions I will need with my Zenith DVB318, looks like a great DVD player, we shall see.

Have you run acorss any discrete on and discrete off commands for the player. I am trying to ensure all my components ...

Remote Window in RM, Which remote to select

I have searched the documentation and cannot find references to the different versions of a remote that are displayed in the Remote window of RM

For example with the 8801 remote we have the following to choose from
URC-8801x
URC-8801x 1k
URC-8801x x2 2k
URC-8801x x3 2k
URC-8801x x3 8k$1815

there ...

Well I really feel like a newbe on this and guess I am. I further chased down the effort required to convert a 6012 to JP1 compliance and found if is more effort than I had anticipated. I located Robs pictures and documentation on Yahoo and read them closely. I also have ordered a JP1 cable.

We ...

You are correct. I have not modified toe 6012 to date. It appears however, that I will have to add a connector to the 6012 and then implement the JP1 solution discuissed above.

I cannot see another way to get a DVD function implemented on this remote. It will be a good learning experience.

Feel ...

Mark, you are correct it is Sub Device not byte2. I tried your well thought out suggestion. Infact I applied the logic to all codes for Amps and audio which had Onkyo codes associate dwit them. Unfortunately the Onkyo did not respond to any of these attempts. I am at a loss as to where to go from ...

Onkyo Ht-r510, unable to input DVD code into remote

This is a very impressive forum, I just jouned after jumping from the AVS Forum. A lot of questions have been answered in going through the threads. One remains however, I have a URD 6012 remote and like the size and function. I can input to the 6012 all codes for the reciever except the code to ...
