What I do is use B primarily and set volume lock to TV. That gives you all Echo functions and TV vol in mode B. Then on the keymove tab, assign additional TV functions as to any buttons you like on the B device (power, sleep, etc.). You could even assign TV power to Shift-Power. To execute TV power ...

I am not sure what is available on the newer remotes, bit on traditional jp1-jp1.3 remotes this is accomplished through keymoves. The keymove is associated with a setup code. It doesn't have to be the current setup code. This is needed for the HAF too

Thanks Vicky, I'll do a little more ...

Great.

I think setup code lock was the source of the D problem as well. I turned it off everywhere in the file I posted. So you shouldn't have to bother with initial device mode. That's just the default after a reset or a download. You should be able to pick any device any time and control it ...

Looks ok to me. Maybe it's the A setup code lock ON on the general tab that keeps it from working. In any case, I replaced your base with upgrade with my version. So download and try it.

For others looking at these files, here's the RDF/Map/Image for this new remote:

I'm new to JP1 and have a new Inteset INT-422 remote , Just recently had help gettting the new RDU set-up in the system and now I am trying to get the hang of the process of upgrading codes and tinkering with it. All of our software communicates with JP1.2 and newer remotes via COM port. If Device Manager doesn't show a defined COM port associated with your interface cable, there is no chance that the interface will be recognized by RMIR or by RealTerm.

Thanks 3FG, looks like I am getting somewhere now ...

So this is the same cable as in this post by Revwillie and should have the same pinout, unless the colors have changed from the description: 2 Yellow, 3 Black, 4 Green, 6 White.

Please don't use the color of the wires as guide to how to hook up the cable, because the colors aren't standardized in any way. Also, the numbers nejpski gave are wire numbers which are unrelated to the JP1 6 pin connector pin numbers. Instead use the following list and information from your ...

Actually the cable I purchased (with color reference) was slightly different.

See link below. [So the colors are based on this cable rather than the one referenced above for $8.54.....although the color crossreference MAY be the same.]

The cable I purchased (as noted above in my post) has single ...

This FTDI FT232RL USB to Serial adapter is one of the cheapest, $8.54 + free shipping, on ebay that works just fine.
The actual color of wires are not as shown but nejpski has his research:
Wire Number \ USE \ OLD COLOR \ NEW COLOR

[1] Ground \ Black \ BLACK

[2] CTS \ Brown \ BLUE (Not ...
