They do seem like the next best buttons, location-wise.

I took your advice and put macros on Shifted non-device buttons and it works. So I guess the limitation is trying to use the device buttons.

Very annoying. The SET button is closest to the device buttons so they are the most convenient (and dare I say most natural) place to put device selection ...

RMT415 macros

Greetings everyone. It has been a while since I had need to change my remotes so I haven't been visiting the forum a lot lately. Hope everyone is doing well.

Quick question re the RMT415 version 1.

I tried to set up a 5th device using normal Shift plus one of the four device buttons to call a ...

My RC02s seem to be showing their age and so was surfing ebay looking for replacement when I stumbled upon these. While I'd prefer backlighting, I think I could live without it. The buttons are large enough and I am so used to the layout, that I don't think I absolutely need the lighting that is on ...

NS-RMT415

Was surfing ebay and stumbled upon the Insignia NS-RMT415 remote. Does anyone have any experience with it? Is it a JP1.x remote like its cousins?

Hello Barf,

I downloaded newer Arduino IDE and GirsLite as you suggested. Made the true to false change in IrWidget.h and voila... successful decode when I click the Test button.

Thanks a bunch for your help!

In looking thru my stuff, I found this old thread that I started on this very subject.

It doesn't have pictures but what it does is point to the older document for building a prior version of the JP1.x interface that includes Tommy's great construction guide. With it you should be able to build the ...

I know I've got one or two of these cables around here somewhere. Let me know if you still want this and if so, I'll dig around and see if I can find them and take a couple of pics for you.

I could never hold a candle to you and the other experts when it comes to answering questions and helping new users.

And I haven't added any new equipment to my system in a long time so no need to build new upgrades or ask questions for myself.

I mostly stop in just to keep up with what's going on ...

I need yet another cable like I need a hole in the head. But on Tuesday I was placing an order at Digi-Key for components for another project and decided to include the FTDI cable, header and pins from Tommy's excellent guide. Parts arrived today.

I will say that it is ridiculously easy to put this ...

Quick question... is the Insignia remote in KM?

If so, how is it listed in the remote drop down? If not, would it be possible to have it added in the next update?
