AIRWidget & IRScope Operating Instructions

Over the years I have upgraded instructions for the IR Widget many times. This will be my final upgrade so the instructions are applicable to the recently introduced Arduino IR Widget (AIRWidget), a widget so inexpensive and simple to build that EVERYONE can enjoy using one.

Way to go, Graham ! Your methodical investigation and solution of this problem, although far over my ability to comprehend, is impressive. I think you are evolving into a skilled circuit designer as well as a software genius.

Request for help from Tommy Tyler

I'm looking for someone who is familiar with Arduino programming, and hopefully someone who has used one of the new Adafruit boards with CircuitPython (a variant of micropython) built-in, such as the Trinket M0. I need someone who is willing to correspond with a few e-mails or a phone call to help ...

I might consider selling you an IR Widget as a special consideration because you guys have been working so long and hard on your AC control problem. Also, I have heard before about the unusual length of AC control signals, and I would be interested in learning if the Widget's ability ...

Missed Order

Wendell Breland,

Forget all that stuff I just wrote. I finally opened the store email address and found your emails of 12/14, 12/27, 1/4, and today. You have every right to be ticked off. If I've learned nothing else from this experience it's NEVER start selling stuff by email if you EVER expect ...

WRB,

You say you placed an order in Dec of last year. That would be Dec 2018 right? I have no record of your order and I never ship a Widget until it has been paid for. If you have any info that shows you paid for a Widget and I was aware of it, I'll be glad to complete your order. I notice you ...

Windows10 compatibility with IR Widget [solved]

Can anyone tell me how to run IRScope under Windows 10? I tried my Widget with my new computer and it can't seem to find the COM port.

Never mind, problem solved when I plugged the Widget into the correct PC.

How to Make Your Own Pogo Pin Adapter

We still have occasional inquiries about where to get a pogo pin adapter. Since nobody sells them anymore, I've posted an article HERE that shows a simple and inexpensive way to build your own.

Vicky, don't know if you noticed my latest catalog page but I'm now selling a JP1 EEPROM Interface that uses the FTDI chip and driver that works on nearly everything.

By now I have probably confused everyone as to whether I will continue building stuff. Well, the left eye seems to be stable at about 50%, and I am slowly regaining use of my right arm, so you may have noticed I have reopened the store. Watch for an exciting announcement around the first of July ...

Maybe this will help clarify things a bit. There are two basic types of "USB Converters" on the market. The first, and most familiar type, essentially creates a VCP (virtual com port) at a computer that does not have a serial output port, to enable it to communicate with equipment that does. This is ...

The 3.3V version is recommended because 6V remotes have a voltage regulator to drop the voltage to 3.3V for the flash processor, and that's what you're interfacing to.
