It's ok, I've found it.

I couldn't find the updated RDF files that were mentioned in the IR8.0 release notes. There doesn't appear to be a link to the JP1 files section from the main forum menu. I only found it by following a link in another post. Should the "File Section" not be available from the ...

Hi all,

I've now built the interface and it passes the tests fine. However, when I run IR and click "download from remote" I get a message saying that it cannot find the RDF file for my URC-7781 remote. The message actually starts "No definition file could be found for this remote (11311131), so ...

Thanks all for the replies. Don't worry, I will be using the extender as I did for the URC-8810 & URC-8811 remotes from before.

I've only just noticed that sentence. What on earth do you want to use learned codes for? The JP1 tools have everything you need to be able to identify the codes and ...

Returning after a few years break

Hi, while I'm not new here I havn't been around for a few years as, once I had all my JP1 remotes setup as I wanted them I stopped tinkering around with them. At the time the OFA remotes available here in the UK were nowhere near as good as the ones available in the US so I bought a few URC-8811's ...

Thanks for that info Rob,

I'll see what I can get, but even if I can find the old ones somewhere I may still get one of the new ones just to have something new to play with over the winter months.

Thanks again

Which remote to get

Hi there,

I am in the UK and have been programming JP1 remotes for a couple of years now. The OFA remotes I use are all from the US (URC8810/8811 & URC6131) which I have either bought while over there on business or ones that Rob has kindly sent to me. Since getting them programmed the way I want ...

Thanks for your help Greg,

It is now working just fine as you suggested using the keymoves for the commands and a DSM.

Thanks again

Just one more thing,

Is it possible to create a DSM with a protocol that is not asigned to a device button.

I'll explain. I have the AUX device programmed with one protocol and most keys asigned, but I want the power button to be a macro made up of 4 commands from a different protocol. This second ...

It's alright, forget the last post. The RDF path was set to the IR5 directory whereas the new RDF files were in the IR6 directory.

I now have the Special Protocol Functions tab.

Thanks

Hi Greg,

I am using IR 6.00 and I don't appear to have the Special Protocol Function tab that you refer to.

8811 keymove documentation clarification please

Hi there,

In the documentation for the 8811 extender I don't understand one paragraph in the device specific macro section and would like someone to just clarify it for me please. The paragraph reads:

For macros up to 13 key codes long, there is a more direct way. You can translate each key of ...

You lucky guy. In Germany, this remote is about 60 EUR, which is $77 (US) or £41.
I guess the moral here is that "No matter how bad you feel, there is always someone worse off than yourself"

Well, I've just bought a URC-7562 and you were right, it's hideous. It's physically too wide to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand, there is no next/previous track buttons (only FFWD/REW) and the little flap at the bottom that hides the eight little buttons will not survive if my 2 year old ...
