JP1 Remotes

I got most of the functions working, but the exit key is somehow the delete key.

I'd also like to set up a macro to turn the tv on, receiver on, and go to live tv (even if wmc is minimized) if possible.

Ok, so I tried programming the TV button like I did with the receiver and TV. Press the Sat/Cbl button (which I guess is the one I'd use for WMC since the remote doesn't have a dedicated WMC button). Held down setup till it blinked twice, typed in 1972, then... nothing. I know from reading articles ...

OMG it worked!

I unplugged the rosewill receiver, backed out of the RMIR program, reinstalled the driver and bam, it downloaded the remote's codes into the program!

Going to try to get it to activate the 1972 (I believe) code for WMC next.

Ok, other than the wireless mouse and keyboard which I need to keep plugged in, I just have this cable for the remote and the Rosewill IR Receiver. So I'll remove the receiver and try again with the device manager.

Ok I installed the driver and that worked, but now I have a USB Serial Port listed with a ? under Other Devices. The USB Serial Converter is now listed properly under Universal Serial Buss Controllers.

And I'm still not getting the remote to be recognized by RMIR.

I even tried switching the green ...

And did exactly as instructed in buying that usb to 8-pin and the little 6 pin plug and modifying it. It was very easy, his instructions were awesome.

Do I need something to get this Rosewill IR receiver to work or is just plugging it in all I need to do?

I just built a new HTPC. I custom made the usb --> 6-pin cable from Tommy's pdf file. I have the RCA RCRP05BR (not listed in the program, but the RCRP05B is - not sure if that's part of the problem) remote.

I already programmed in my Denon AVR 1912 receiver and Samsung 59" PN59D8000 tv into the ...

Ok, well at this price point, if it can do everything I need, who can argue with it?

How do you acquire that special cable that connects the remote to the computer and what software do I use to program all my devices into it?
