Mathdon,

Thank you for your suggestion. You are correct that I had set the interface to use COM8. However, it originally was set to Auto-detect, and then JP1x Serial Auto-detect, and did not work. JP1xTest determined it to be on COM8, and that was an option in the Port Selection, and so I set it ...

Thanks!!!!

I started RMIR, then immediately attempted to download from the remote. That worked, so then I loaded the setup file and was able to successfully upload to the remote.

One thing I found interesting in the rmaster.err file:

Starting upload
Interface Name = JP1.X Serial
Port Name = COM8 ...

No remotes found! - Time for new cable? - SOLVED

Hello again. It's been a while and now I'm back to being a beginner. I'm using my USB adapter and a new remote, but I'm having the famous "No Remotes Found". I've spent the last day searching the forum but I don't see anything that helps.

Just like the last time, the JP1xTEST works fine on my ...

I'm the one who posted the device upgrade, after help from the crew here. As I stated in the original problem description, there was no built-in code to control the sound bar, nor one where EFCs could be used. You can use learned keys, but since the toggle bit doesn't toggle on a learned key it won ...

Which program are you trying to run associated with .rmdu, and has it worked before?

For the .vbs file, try right-clicking on it and see if "open" or "open with" appears, since the default action may be to edit it or it has been associated with notepad/wordpad. Hopefully one of the remaining ...

The only difficulty I had was when I tried to download from the remote in RMIR with the IR custom protocol, as it would hang up.
This bug is now fixed. See this post for details of the RMIR development version that includes the bugfix.

Thanks. I downloaded it and now it no longer hangs.

And ...

Awesome! I loaded a RMIR with my old update, deleted it, and loaded in your update with the custom protocol. It worked perfectly.

The only difficulty I had was when I tried to download from the remote in RMIR with the IR custom protocol, as it would hang up. I just 'blind' uploaded after adding ...

Worked great, Vickyg2003! There is only one command per keypress, and they do not repeat. I tried input, menu, mute, and the up/down keys.

A note to those installing IR.exe for the first time, you will have to set the properties for IR.exe in Win7 to "unblock" and "run as administrator" in order ...

Thanks for the info. Custom Protocols sound fun, I haven't hand coded assembly language for 30 years...
It had been a long time for me too, but I found JP1-ing was enough to make me dust off the skills and give it a go.

Hamsterman, looking at the OEM learns, they look EXTREMELY close to what the ...

I've learned a few keys and re-uploaded the RMIR file:

If you were not a JP1er, you'd just be living with it.

So what kind of repeating do you want?

If you capture a couple of learns, we can make sure its not a leadout time issue that caucer29 suspects.
We can also
Turn Repeating off ...

Sharp Combo Protocol- Extra keypresses?

Here I am again :?

I wrote an upgrade for the Sharp LC60E69U LCD TV. I noticed while testing that all the buttons worked, but many of them produce the equivalent of 2 presses of the key, so on those keys I'd have to barely tap to get a single keypress. An example might be the Mute button, which ...

You have keymoves blocking the underlying setup code on the AUD device. The AUD ok keymove needs to be removed. Probably the reset of the AUD keymoves should be reviewed as well.

Thanks, you nailed it. I deleted the AUD keymoves, and sure enough, it works fine now. And the sound bar ignores the ...

The learned signal looks well formed, and is RC6 dev 16, OBC 82. I made a RCRP05B upgrade using the RC5/6 Combo, and it shoots this signal correctly.
So if you'll upload an RMIR file which contains the learned signal (demonstrated to work-- try it, don't just depend on "worked before") and with an ...
