INT-422 - Cleared and upgraded. Now nothing

I got my new cable and have re-familiarized myself with JP1. Everything was coming back to me. At first, I took the new remote and added come device upgrades, but got a message.

I went ahead and uploaded this to the remote and it worked fine, but the message ...

It sounds like you don't have the inset rdf, or you didn't put the RDF in the correct folder. I went to the file section and found the rdf in the rdfs under development.

Update- I think I have it. While reading other posts I noticed statements about the rdf or maps possibly missing. Checking File>New>Remote Image I saw no listing for this remote. I checked the file section here and found the correct files and placed them in the rdf and maps directories, respectively ...

Thanks for the encouragement and tips, guys.

I am getting somewhere. You were correct, Ed. I connected up the cable to the remote one way and RMIR complained saying it did not find a remote. When connected to the other way and try to download from the remote I got "no rdf matches signature ...

I got the cable yesterday. Installed RMIR, rdf files, maps. I think all that looks right.

Installing the driver did not go as directed in the documentation from DIYGadget. Although the driver installed without incident from both their driver file and another time by Windows Update, both times it ...

Done. Thank you for the recommendation.

I've had it for just over a year and it's worked fine. You need to do a bit of research here to be sure you don't plug it into the upside down.
May I ask which one did you buy?

Returning JP1 user- Need new JP1 cable

Hello

I worked with JP1 way back in 2008. I got away from it, but now I am back working with an Inteset INT-422. I lost my cable and have a new PC with no parallel port.

I purchased a cable from http://www.ebay.com/itm/261101529602 as recommended in another post. Now I look and see delivery will ...

mdavej-

Nice remote. Just not close enough for me. I have a couple Harmony remotes that I am sure I can program and work, but the shape of the OEM remote along with button layout really works for me.

These OEM remotes can learn codes for volume and TV ON/OFF. There is a button designated for ...

I find this exact layout to be about the best there is. Are you saying there is a JP1 ready remote that this one is based upon?

Can the OEM MS Media Center remote be hacked for JP1?

Like the title. I really like this remote, but need it to do a little bit more. Can it be jacked?

Is there a list of remotes that are already setup to do JP1?

It has been maybe 5 years since I did anything with JP1. I have a couple Logitech Harmony remotes that work well, but the are just too complicated for my wife. By complicated I mean she is used to the OEM Microsoft Media Center remote. No extra buttons.

This is why I am back to JP1. I want to find ...

Sorry mdavej.

I did not explain well. It is all about the wife factor. You know. How even though we like technology they just want things simple.

With the exception of a periodic media center glitch life has been grand for a while. A single media center environment we never left. No changing ...

There aren't any. But since you use Media Center already, you really need to get rid of your cable box entirely and replace it with a Homerun Prime or InfiniTV. Then you get multiple tuners and don't need cable boxes or blasters.

I already use a Ceton cable TV card for reception feeding Media ...
