Sorry about the link. I have tried several sets of new alkaline batteries and am getting the same thing. The cbl button doesn't always flash consistently, it will flash in no particular pattern. If I hold down buttons and insert one battery sometimes the other device buttons will light up and stay ...

RCRP05BR CBL button flashing

Remote was working fine. Connected to remote master and uploaded to remote. At this point after removing from the cable the CBL button starts flashing intermittently. I am able to upload and download from the remote. I have tried going to new remote image and selecting my remote to no avail. I am at ...

Opening the ir file in ir.exe I am able to add a macro bound to shift-dvr. Like you suggested, it changes the value from $42 to $C2. Not sure why I can't do this in rmir.exe. No big deal though.

RCRP05BR not allowing macro to be bound to Shift-DVR?

Hello, I have a rcrp05br remote that will not allow me to program a macro to the shifted dvr button. The option is grayed out in rmir. I figure something is walking on the memory spot where the shifted dvr button would be. Here is the file. http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file ...

Thanks for the help. I no longer have the remote. Not a big deal since they are only $9. This is the 2nd one of these rca's that I have had trouble with. The first, I think had a bad solder pin. It worked fine, but would not communicate with jp1. Not sure what happened with this one. I have 3 other ...

Seems as though now it is totally bricked not even responding. Not sure what happened. I was learning from a remote. I plugged into rmir, I downloaded from the remote. I cleared the learned keys, uploaded back to remote and when I unplugged the cable the cbl light was flashing. Oh well. Will just ...

Bricked rcrp05b

Every time I put the batteries in the remote the cbl button starts flashing. Two quick blinks over and over. I can get it to communicate with ir. I have tried uploading a file from a working remote to the bricked remote with no luck. Can't get a 981 reset to work. Any ideas?[/b]

Shift learned commands on number pad of RCRP05BR

I was trying to store some learned commands on my rcrp05br on shift keys. I wanted to put commands to store my air conditioner on my shifted number pad keys. I used ir and it worked fine putting the learned keys on all shifted keys but the number pad. I am guessing it has to do with the numbers ...

Well, it has been over a week and I haven't had my original problem happen again. It was weird that it happened twice in one day and then not again, but oh well, definitely not complaining.

I am just trying to figure out what could be causing this?
So are we, because we haven't heard of anything like this happening before.

Could it be possible that the rechargeable batteries are under powering the remote and thereby causing anomalous problems with the discrete circuity? I noticed ...

Could you try and keep track of which buttons go bad, and when one of them does go bad, could you check if it's bad in all device modes.

Rob, yes, if it happens again I will check this. It hasn't happen again tonight.

Are you running the extender?

Have you programmed FAV functionality?

How ...

Seem to be always certain ones. None of the power buttons, or volume work. All the controls on my Directv HR24 still work fine. But, yes, it always is the same ones, but not all of them.
