Thanks 3FG - good to know. The reason I asked the basic questions here is that I did not know this could be done on a Mac.
And, as you probably know, we Mac types drink white wine and fish with a credit card ....
Best,
Thomas

Capn - It's tough to fish without a pole, aka a PC! And you are right, it looks like I can only toggle between Component and HDMI inputs using the related EFCs provided above by Vicki.
I tested my approach by defaulting to RGB using EFC 00253 and then invoking the Input menu with EFC 00090 (thanks ...

3FG - 'Tis true, we Mac users are simple folks!
I checked page two of your link which suggests that HDMI1 is 00193 and HDMI2 is 00191, but neither works.
However, I will try the RGB reference starting point approach with down arrow presses in the Macros and will report back.

3FG -
Thanks for that link.
Unfortunately I use a Mac (OS X only) and cannot use the Hex->EFC application I suspect is required to make EFCs from those Hex strings.

Capn - Thanks for the RGB EFC - that works!
I was wrong on EFC 0174 for HDMI. Each successive input of 0174 alternates between HDMI1 and HDMI2, which makes programming tricky.
Likewise, EFC 00231 toggles between Component1 and Component2.
The problem is the starting point. If I last used HDMI1 ...

Vicky - my apologies for overlooking that. Yes, the code for the Vizio is 1758.
I tested what you provided and they work!
Could you please expand your reply to include RGB and HDMI2 (your HDMI code gets HDMI1). I use HDMI1, HDMI2 and RGB, the latter for my MacMini.

Shift key
Thanks, Vicky.
Understood and crystal clear.
Many thanks. This is nice to know as it doubles the number of assignable keys.
Amazing remotes these JP1s.

Pray tell - what is a 'shifted button' and what is the advantage of using one?

Sounds like I may be missing a step?

Mdavej - switching to 1058 results in the following:
2 blinks after inputting code from AUD button
Volume up but no volume down on the RCA
No power on/off on the RCA
None of the other codes from 3FG, above, works

3FG - With the receiver on and showing 'Video1', 32713 turns the power off, and 32969 changes the display to 'Volume xx' where xx is a two digit number reflecting the volume setting.

Hmmm.
Still no luck. I am only entering the five digit number after hitting AUD->Setup.
For example, with the receiver on Video1, I try AUD->Setup->65997 to switch to Video2, but there is no result.

Sir - you must be 'Three Fingered Glove' I'm guessing? I earlier followed your post on how to correctly program Volume Punch Through on the RCA RCP05B and your instructions worked perfectly, correcting the wrong ones in the manual. Many thanks for that.
