The six pin plug within the battery compartment with male pins. The white cable I am using has a six pin two row, three pin per row female pin plug. Not individual pins. I was able to get RMIR to download the software from two 1056's I have.

RMIR is not finding my remote

I have a RS 15-1994 that I am trying to setup. I have a JP1 cable that I purchased years ago from Tommy IICR. It's a white USB cable printed JP1.2/3, and has the six pin header pin connector on the other end. My Windows 10 PC sees the cable when I plug it into USB and pops up under Ports as COM4 ...

You have Cable Channel Control selected as On. That tells the remote to route the "Channel" group of buttons to the cable box. It does this for TV and DVD device modes. This affects the digit, CH+/- and OK buttons.

You probably want this behavior while watching TV (at least for digits and Ch ...

Problem getting OK/Select to function with DVD

I ALMOST have this remote acting the way I want it to, almost... Earlier, last month I posted and was schooled on the process to get my Sony Blu Ray working with my ATLAS 1056 . http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13665&start=15&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
I learned that the ...

Thank you, I think I am getting it now. I was also messing around with KM this morning and found this pop up box after mousing over the corner of the Device Type box. It is saying the same thing you responded to my questions pretty well also. The Mode and Device Types are laid out and grouped nicely ...

Device Type: Variants are confusing me

RM IR program.

I don't quite understand the what and why's of the selections presented to me in RM IR.

For instance:
I load a .rmir file I am using for my Atlas remote.

Under General I see 5 #'s corresponding to the available device buttons on my remote. Understood.

Under the (Device?)Type ...

Hardware/software diff. between Atlas 1056 Silver and Black?

Or are they just the color of the remotes? Was wondering why this differentiation thinking it was simply for the Map image of the remote, and that the functioning between the two are identical.

Reason I ask, for some reason my RMIR file got associated with the 1056 SILVER instead of the BLACK ...

What am I doing wrong? Button/Function labels are resetting

I connect my remote and load up RM IR.

Click Download from the Attached Remote.

The remote lights up once, then twice and the fields in the General Tab are populated.

I select #1, CBL, then click Edit Device at the bottom of that section.

I select Load at the next popup Device Upgrade Editor ...

Dunno what I did to be honest. I downloaded both of those upgrades again, and plugged both of them, one at a time, into RM IR to look at how they match up with my remote and Blu Ray. The BDP-BX37 looked almost perfect. I have a punch thru (think that's what its called) for my Volume to always go to ...

Hmm I just looked at the two upgrades I have for this Blu Ray and the one that I have loaded is different, I am not sure where I got it now. It works mostly, I will try the upgrades you linked directly and see if they are doing what I need, thanks for the patience.

I did install one of those upgrades and it works for the most part. At first, I couldn't locate the Open/Close button, but I found it tied to the LIVE button, and after testing found it worked. This came from the Upgrade I installed that was posted earlier and I thank you for that. What I am trying ...

The Function Name is listed as Live. The only way I knew it was Open/Close is from the OBC it performs (22) which I found out from this link: http://hifi-remote.com/sony/Sony_bluray.htm

The Button is Live, but shouldn't the Function name be listed as Open/Close?
