FYI a couple more remotes with RF capability: The One For All URC-9040 and URC-8350.
The former comes with an RF receiver for PC control and the latter a socket for home automation .
RDFs and extenders exist for both but neither really use the (limited) RF capabilities.

I have been watching.

For various reasons I have not been doing anything on the JP1 front for quite some time. However, I am now in the process of trying to get everything up and running on my latest machine and will look to finish off and release my URC-7950 extender ASAP. I will then have a look ...

Suggested enhancement for Extenders

I am currently working on an extender and was looking at providing FAV key support for a remote that does not have a dedicated FAV key and it seems to me that there is no logical reason why it cannot have multiple FAV keys, or device specific FAV sequences.
Obviously, the extender implementation ...

URC1672 (SkyHD rev.9F in UK)

Saw this thread when it was recently "touched".

I soldered the pins into my SkyHD remote and performed a raw download in RMIR. This is uploaded to http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=11549 .

I also tried using jp12test but this failed. I think this could be down to my ...

I think the 7780 uses RC6-M-20n variant:2.

See the following thread http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=94590#94590 for the entry required in Protocols.ini to support this. You may also need to change the protocols section in the RDF file and change 0020 to 0020:2

Link corrected ...

there are other ways to make use of the HT key - at the moment I simply use it as "mute" so that the centre button can always be "select" and I don't need to do any mucking around with the frustrating "menu modes" on the remote.

I agree about the "menu modes". I have the '10' key as select/ok ...

Phantom Device

Looking at the RDF file for the 7550/7552/7560/7562 (Not B01) remotes it appears that there is a"gap", between the 6 device codes and the first VPT device, at EEPROM locations $016:$017.

Unfortunately, in the 7562 B01 the EEPROM arrangement is different and so this gap does not exist and so cannot ...

Changing the fixed data

As a short term workaround - Is it possible to use RM to create the upgrade and then, once added to IR, change the fixed data on the upgrade on the devices tab?

David,

Further investigation on this shows that if you set the Device in RM to 5 then the Fixed Data will be EC 05.

There is a reference to this in the last post of this thread.

Hi David,

I hadn't spotted the difference in the protocol. However, the way to get round this is to load your modified setup into IR from RM and then in IR go to the Devices tab and change the Fixed data from EC 00 to EC 05, which should then just control the required SKY device.

Hi David,
I have looked at your IR file and it looks as though you have the SKY Select function on the Mute button, which as you also have VPT enabled to your TV I am surprsed it ever works.
I have uploaded an RM file for the 7562, which should allow you to create an IR file with exactly what you ...

Help needed to create URC7562-B01 Extender

Thanks to this site and a JP1 cable I have been happily using a number of URC7562-B01 remotes for several years. However, with changes of eqipment I have now run out of keymove space and so looked to see if an extender was avaialble.

Unfortunately, whilst there is one for the URC7562-B00 there is ...
