Outstanding. I'll give it a try.

Is there a person I should contact about updating the spreadsheet?

Thanks.

Thank you. I was guessing they were no longer made based on OFA site.

I looked at the RCA as I had seen several posts recommending it. According to the spreadsheet of remotes I can't use KM with it and there is no extender. Since I am going to be in relearning mode anyway, I could go with RM; but ...

What's up with OFA?

Am just starting to attempt an upgrade after being away for several years.

Looked at remote files and some of the recent posts which referred folks to the OFA site. (Need a replacement for a RS2116) When I go to the One for All site the remote I want (10820) is still listed but the links for all of ...

The better half doesn't like the way I set up her new remote.

I could not figure out how to use the native macro capability on the 10820 and select phantom keys that I created. I was going to assign the functions I used phantom keys for to physical keys on an unused device but when I mapped ...

MaskedMan,

I should have been more precise.

My macros use multiple phantom keys. (While reading the doco on extender, I am also working on reassigning all the phanton keys and seeing if I can then create a device macro.)

I can't use Keymover as it doesn't allow device keys. When I tried to have ...

Thanks Vicky. That tells me I have what is now current to start learning on.

Trust me I understand the dislike of writing documentation.

10820 Extender Version

I want to assign a macro to a device key. From what I read, that requires an extender. I have an URC 10820.

I downloaded the file that was in extender portion of files section. I opened the readme file to start reading up on how to use it and see what the pluses and minuses were. At the very top is ...

mdavej,

Sorry for the delay - work and honey-do's get in the way of real work.

My original problem was that the physical sticker on the back of the receiver says T23. I ended up calling the DirecTV help desk who gave me the actual model. I wrote down HD23-600; and I could have not heard them ...

Rob, have it installed and running on my Vista laptop. While I am a raw rookie at JP1, I am fairly competent on PCs and their OS's. And, that was a bear to get running. Two questions:

1. If anybody has the Registry changes the RM install makes, I would really like to look at those. That appears to ...

Rob,

It tested as being installed OK. Let me work on it for a while. I am sure it is either something unique to my laptop or I messed something up.

Thanks.

My laptop has JRE versin 6 update 17. I checked and it is the most current. Is there a different verion required for RM?

Have on my list to upload the DirecTV file. When I got into it I remembered that my original problem was that the receiver has a sticker on the back that ID'e it as a different ...

Thanks for the help. I am back in business.

I did run into a problem trying to install RM. I normally run JP1 activity on a laptop running Vista(32bit). When I installed RM, it would not run. I start it, it never comes up even though Task Manager shows that it is running. I didn't see any comments ...

Extract capability?

I have several RS-2116s running systems one of which has buttons starting to go out. I have re-assigned the buttons but now it is starting to eat batteries. So I figured it was time for new remotes.

I purchased a URC-10820 (and got the JP1.2/3 cable from Tommy.)

I lost my hard drive about six ...

I took your comments and went looking for Comcast remotes. Several ebay offers and another site I checked had multiple Comcast 1057BG0's.

Looked them up in the chart of remotes and they show to be JP1.1. Several documents say that thse cables are not longer available but a couple of the supplier ...
