Okay - thanks Vicky and gfb107 - that is noted. I will reorganize my directories, which should make life a bit simpler for me in future!

When I load the .rdmu file an error message box pops up headed "Unknown Remote", telling me that: "The upgrade file you are loading is for the remote "RS 15-2104 6-In-One AV". Please choose the best match from the list below". In the list below are listed only the two remotes I have - URC7556 and ...

In IR, go to File - Set Directory - RDF Path. Then in RM, go to Options - Folders - RDF Folder. Make sure the one in RM is the same as the one in IR.
If that's not it, then you may have picked the wrong remote by mistake.
I have checked RM and IR. They are both looking at the same RDF which is ...

Are you sure RM is pointing to the right RDF file (Options - Folders)? Maybe you have different ones in different places. The issue is with RM, not IR, so go ahead and post your RM file. Do you see anything suspicious in your rmaster.err file?
I have just added the 7556 RDF file so ...

I have added the correct RDF and map files. My IR file still does not work. I noticed that Rob's file had no protocol entries whereas the RMDU file produces an upgrade protocol for me to enter into IR.

My latest non working IR file is here at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file ...

Thanks Rob, your file works fine for me. The only thing I can think that I did wrong was to use a URC7555 RDF instead of a URC7556 one. This hasn't caused me problems in the past.

Thanks also to vickyg2003 and mdavej. I shall continue to play around to see if I can find out what I did wrong. "Allow ...

Philips DVP5960 and URC7556 Problem

I have a Philips DVP5960 DVD player and a URC7556. I have downloaded several .rmdu files from the Files Section and can get none of them to work with my URC.

I have posted in the diagnosis area a zip https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=8693 which contains:
(1) a .rmdu ...

Graham

I am now using your extender with my 7781. I like it very much. Thank you for your work on it.

Thanks for that Graham. I had seen extenders mentioned and was beginning to get curious as to what they were. I have downloaded your 7781 extender and will read the manual fully. I like the idea of being able to create dedicated device selection buttons. I have to put my glases on each time I want ...

I have a URC 7555 and a 7781. I am just in the process of finalising transfer of all my 7555 codes to my 7781. I'm sure that if people realised how good IR and RM are there would be a lot more users here!

Thanks Graham. I had been filling in the code column without filling in the type column first. That clears that problem up.

Assigning to device button in IR

I wasn't sure whether or not to post this in the Beginners board or in the Software board.

When I use Devices -> Add to import data from RM, if the imported data contains Key Moves I am asked to assign a device button. However, if the imported data has no Key Moves I am not asked to assign a device ...

Thanks for the fixed data information Graham.

Code 0847 does have all the functions I want. I have all the 7555 5-digit codes for Sky for use with 'Key Magic' and they probably will work with the 7781. I have never used the Key Moves section of IR.exe so I will try and figure out how it works as it ...
