Yamaha Receiver Codeset 2467

I have an RCRP05BR and a Yamaha RX-V375 home theater switch/amp. None of the Yamaha codes given for the remote will toggle power, but one of the provided Yamaha codes will turn it on while another code will turn it off. Damndest thing.

I have an old Yamaha remote that actually shoots discretes for ...

Okay, I got the RCRP05BR to work. It doesn't have the 2467 codes for my Yamaha receiver, but I already have a Yamaha remote with discretes for that.

Everything else worked with the RCA remote.

I see a JP1 connector in this thing. What kind of cable do I need to load the RCRP05BR via USB, and where ...

I bought the RCRP05BR. But if anyone can explain how to make heads or tails out of this other thing I would still appreciate it.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of the current model remotes with JP1 connectivity and/or at least the EFC mapping capabilities?

I don't have access to one of these at the moment, but in general any 9XX command needs a slightly different sequence. For example, going from memory, after pressing setup and getting 2 blinks, one needs to press the desired device button before entering 9XX. Typically pressing setup puts the ...

Well, this remote is not exactly the same as other OFA remotes. Some of the sequences seem a little different. I've only been able to access extended codes on the TV device. Other devices aren't working the same, or maybe not at all. I haven't seen any codes assigned from the DVD device. I can't ...

So the obvious question then -- this OARUSB04G definitely supports these EFC codes?

Well, I already have the MX-500, so this may be the cheapest way for me to generate the learnable discretes that didn't come on my Samsung remote.

If I understand and remember correctly, once you pick a protocol for a device all the buttons on that device are simply different three-digit values ...

Discretes on OARUSB04G?

I bought a new Samsung set which supposedly supports discretes, though these are not on the factory remote. I guess they don't want anyone hurting themselves.

I have an MX-500 set up with macros for powering things on and off. But many years ago I had a 15-1994 and a JP1, and I remember that ...

These are the user's components:

A/V receiver: Pioneer VSX-D711

TV: Panasonic PT-40LC12

DVD: Panasonic RP62

HD Digital Cable Box: Motorola DCT5100 with an AT&T 200C Remote

He only has the MX-500 right now. We're trying to decide if he would benefit from a cheap JP1 remote (for power discretes ...

That is exactly what I was after.

Rob, I had noticed the 0162/1062/1162 relationship. Thanks for explaining it.

John, yes I had correctly understood you, despite my inability to phrase my own question at your level of clarity. A better description of what I was after might be "bits in the OBC ...

So, by saying "usually 1 byte but sometimes 2 or more bytes," you're implying that arbitrary EFCs can usually be generated.

What's the prevalance of multi-byte hex commands; i.e. "how frequent is 'sometimes?' " Obviously all codes with more than 8-bits in the function would be included. Are these ...

How does a JP1 generate codes?

My question stems from a thread on HTM remotes on RC. We're talking about the value of a JP1 cable to a user who's only trying to generate discretes for the purpose of teaching them to an MX-500.

I'm maintaining that as long as a matching setup code is in the ROM, then the protocol can transmit any ...

So, can anybody say which 1994 extenders can do this?
FWIW, I don't think I need any learning space, though I haven't identified the KM protocol associated with my Dish 501's discretes -- I don't think they're the same protocol as the other commands on that device.

I have a Dish PVR.

My MX-500 combines transport functions with the menu/guide/info/exit buttons. I can deal with it (in fact, I love the MX!), but the wife cannot.

I have a VL1000 that has half a chance of working, but it's an unstable POS.

I think the 6131's the one w/ separate transport/menu ...
