Here is my method for repairing remotes. After the remote is disassembled check if there are any contaminants in the remote. I have seen many keypads that were covered in a sticky residue. This is usually from a spilt drink. Clean the circuit board with isopropyl alcohol. The keypad and case can be ...

I have previously uploaded an upgrade with all the codes for a Denon AVR-2808 here http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=11304 . This was taken from the Denon website and decoded by The Robman. You should find most of the codes work for your Denon amp. I have used the same ...

I resolved the problem. I accidentally switched pin 2 and pin 6 on the connector. When I resolved this issue it worked without fault. The picture on the PDF of the connector shows the contact insertion side. I assumed it was the pin side. Oh and just so you know I know how to spell cable. The last ...

Latest IR Widget design needed

I am going to build the comprehensive IR widget. Can anyone tell me the value of inductor L1? Also can anyone tell me what type of sensor is used for IRDEMOD1? I presume that the circuit uses IRDEMOD 1 or 2 and IRDET1, IRDET2 or IR LED D3.

Latest IR Widget design needed

Does anyone have details of the latest IR Widget? The one listed on the forum seem to be a prototype and I hear that Tommy Tyler’s unit is no longer available.

Problems with URC-7950 remote & TTL-232R-3V3 serial cabl

I am having problems connecting my URC-7950 remote with the TTL-232R-3V3 serial converter cable. It doesn’t work with RMIR. I am using RemoteMaster v2.02a. I have tried running the JP1 test program. It displays the message
“NO JP1.2/3 COMPATABLE REMOTE FOUND!" When I run the same program with my ...

RemoteMaster v2.02a Java version issue

I have updated RemoteMaster to version v2.02a. When you click on the About tab it says it is version v2.02a. When I click on Version Check tab it says Version v2.02a is available and that I am still using version v2.02 Beta 1.5w. Is this an error in the program or have I made an installation mistake?

I have been using RMIR with a learning remote and cable for 4 years. My problem with this amp has been no original remote. If I knew the correct protocol & sub device I would be able to search for the correct codes. Thanks for your help searching for the codes. :)

I’ve created an upgrade located in the following location http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=7136/ There are only a few functions in this upgrade as I don't have an original remote. It does however have working discrete power on and off. I used the same discrete power ...

I have since tried downloading the information from the unit's microprocessor just in case I could find some details on the protocol used(a 12C508/P). Unfortunately the micro was copy write protected so I couldn't get any details. I will continue trying a few different NEC codes.

I tried the 1309 upgrade, but nothing worked. I then tried EFC codes
0-255 in the NEC 133 range but again nothing worked. I have noticed that some manufacturers group their functions in the same OBC range. I thought if tested only the first 20 codes in the OBC range of each NEC main device code ...

It now works.

I went back after your reply and downloaded both the files again and tested them with the URC-8060 Kameleon remote. When I uploaded to the remote then downloaded again the device code disappeared. The problem was that I hadn’t pasted the protocol info. (I never knew I had to do that.) Once I added ...

Dgtec Protocol not listed in Key Master or Remote Master

I want to create a device upgrade for the Dgtec DH-2000A digital set top box. I have tried downloading the existing ones created by The Robman but they don’t seem to work. I have tried using a URC-8060 and a URC-7950 remote. The device upgrades don’t work on any function on either remote. The ...

Sorry about the lack of detail. The setup code I have been using is 0650. Protocol is Panasonic, Device 128, Sub-Device 0, OBC 5, Hex CMD 5F, EFC 184. This is the data I retrieved using the learning function on the remote. Retransmitting the learned code works OK. I wanted to test other codes to see ...
