You can manually move them up and down in the list by clicking on them and holding the mouse button as you move the mouse up and down. As far as I know there is no automated method.

I had a similar problem with the 3.1 extender on an 8810w, I didn't check the regular buttons, but was trying to get a toadtog to work and it wouldn't, after fighting with it for a night, I looked online and saw a recommendation for the 2.4 version and it works great.
