Hi, thank you. Got me a DM8000 now and may need to do some tricks with the new remote.

Your reply is what I expected but with my limited experience I just wanted to make certain that I did not inadvertently mess up anything coded in the device that could not be fixed by uploading the last functioning setup.

Seems I had not tested it on the Dream remote, only on a 7950 remote. After checking what ir-files I had saved, it appears that what happened was that I tested it on the 7950 and when I found that it worked, I then created the same macro on the Dream remote but most likely did not test it right away ...

Suddenly, my macro doesn't work...

Hi,

I put a macro inot the URC 39930RJ0-04 (Dreambox) remote like this:

Audio: TV;Remote;Dream. And it worked as intended:

Select TV mode, turn TV ON, change mode to Dream (to enable control of Dreambox instead of TV)

And it would of course also turn the TV off if the TV already was on.

But ...

I'll study all the replies, hope they may disperse some of the confusion here;-)

WRT my USB interface:

Looking at the chart I find that the 7950, the device that I've been using it with, is listed as a JP1.3 device. I am afraid I may have been somewhat inaccurate in my reference to JP1 due to my ...

It looks like there are a lot of UEI devices not known, or at least absent from the list.

After some googling I found among many others this unit:

http://www.oneforall-int.com/en_UK/product/1/universal-remotes/2/comfort/166/essence-4 Product id is URC 7140.

It looks like it might be useful, but I ...

Manufacturers/suppliers of JP1.3 Flash remote devices?

Hi, I am looking for replacement remotes for URC-7950 or similar devices.

I presume those newer devices can be programmed with the same program that I used for the 7950 - provided I buy a compatible interface/cable?

In IR.exe, select Advanced->Clean Upper Memory to remove old unused data from the learned data section. It resets the data to FF's. This should
allow you to download more learned data.

I've done that - and I can learn the remote new data - and they do work! But when I try to download, then I get ...

Since I already have this thread, hope someone still may read it:

I can learn all the codes that I need into the URC 7950 except for anything to the POWER button. Uploading to ir then, I get error message about something corrupt.

But I suppose that is just one of those things that have no solution ...

Your procedure doesn't make any sense to me. Why don't you build an upgrade the normal way in RM?

Your suggestion may be good, but I was not able to find my way into how to use RM when I looked into the matter some months ago. I printed out and studied the documents Beginners's Extender FAQ ...

Peculiar problem adding codes to Dream URC39930RJ0-04

Hi,

I am trying to learn my Dreambox remote v4 codes for a new tuner. Instead of codes for a TV, I want to have codes for a sat tuner. The TV code now is 0618 (Samsung) Can that interfere with the codes I want to enter from ir.exe?

Since this remote has no learning mode, I

1. Learn codes to a ...

Well actually, after further testing I find that the way it works now is about as good as it can be.

The TV code is 0618 and the SAT code is 1237

I now have move the codes to shifted buttons so that the -/-- and A/V buttons now are back to defaults. (Or must I use the setup codes again?)

But I ...

Simple coding question

On a 7950 remote I have the following codes:

SAT:A/V
1, NECx, 7, 7, 1, 7F, 185
2, NECx, 7, 7, 1, 7F, 185

TV: -/--
1 NEC, 7, 7, 67, 3D, 171

The AV/ and -/-- buttons respectively perform functions on my TV. But while the A/V button is active and performs it duty regardless of whether the remote ...
