IR.exe feature request - View notes for macro key sequences

An enhancement request...if it's possible to add a 3rd column in IR's Macro editing box:

Macro Definition:
Column 1, "Available Keys" (this exists today)
Column 2, "Macro Keys" (this exists today)
Column 3, "Key Notes" (this would be a new column)

Column 3 would list the user-defined notes for ...

15-1994 slow/no reset after upload

...solved the problem by cleaning the button & PCB contacts inside the remote (including the power button) with alcohol & Q-Tip. Works like new.

It looks like the Power button made enough contact to function (for power) but not enough contact to allow initializing after uploads.

15-1994 slow/no reset after upload

I am having a similar problem with 15-1994

After "Upload to Remote" from IR707 my remote LED blinks twice...then no response when I press Power to initialize the upload. Pressing Power works sometimes but other times it takes a while to respond (lately it seems to take longer...and often, can be ...

Controlling two Panasonic devices - DMR-E80H and DMR-E85H

Thanks Rob. In my unending and enduring faith in JP1 I purchased both the DMR-E80H and DMR-E85H without the remote control. I may need to break down to buy the Panasonic remote one of these days.

I tried once more and set Sub Device to 16 (the Panasonic box Remote Code is set at Remote2).

KM ...

Controlling two Panasonic devices - DMR-E80H and DMR-E85H

I have used JP1 with my Panasonic DMR-E80H HDD/DVD-R for the past year and recently purchased a second Panasonic unit, DMR-E85H.

I am having trouble setting up my remote to control both units.
Remote: 15-1994
Protocol: Panasonic
Upgrade: Panasonic_DMR-E85H_Robman

I repaired two 15-1994 remotes by replacing the IR LEDs with Siemens LD271 emitters. One remote had one LED not working; in the other, both LEDs were defective.

To repair:
1) use a digital camcorder or PC-cam to "see" which IR LED(s) are defective (good IR LEDs will appear bright/white if the are ...

schematic

Sorry - I thought I saw the schematic link listed in previous posts - it isn't. I found it at:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/files/schematics/15-1994.gif

It's hard to read the text on the schematice but the LED is on the lower-right side. Only this LED is transmitting (on both remotes - they're old ...

repaired 15-1994 not transmitting infra-red

One of my 15-1994 remotes stopped transmitting infrared (the red LED worked but there was no IR signal).

I tested this by viewing the LED-end of the working remote through a digital camera - the IR LED on the working remote appeared white/blue through the digital camera / PCcam.

I repaired this ...

discrete off for samsung

I use a Samsung VCR/DVD combo that does not have discrete on/off functions.

The PLAY button does not turn the unit on...but from DVD mode, open/close will power-on the unit. The following macro will perform Discrete ON, regardless of the on/off state of the unit.

DISCRETE ON

Adding notes / comments into IR.exe?

Is there a way to add notes and comments into IR.exe?

I'd love to be able to add a comment with each Key Move or Macros as a way to remember their function, or as a way to remember the function of EFCs & Hex codes.

problem activating 15-1994 extender

The extender on my remote has stop activating...after IR.exe "Upload to Remote", pressing the POWER key does not activate the extender. The remote (15-1994) works, but without KMs, macros, or extender/protocols.

This problem is new - the remote and extender (ext5) have been working fine for some ...

Examples of extender macros, KMs and ToadTogs?

I am curious to know if anyone has a list of typical or popular macros, key-moves and toggle functions....I'm exploring new things to do.

I'll include my list below + some notes as a beginner...these some things I learned in my first attempt(s) using extenders (I use the Radio Shack 15-1994):

Then I created a discrete off key (09 03) and a discrete on key (89 03). I did the same thing for the DVD player, using toggle 2 (21 03 03 to track state and 21 03 and A9 03 to turn off and on respectively.

...if I understand the way you set up the toggle:
09 03 uses toggle #0 and will ForceOff ...
