Whatever was happening seems to have cleared up now. Don't know what it might have been.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I am able to work around by opening the page in an IE tab and then changing the rendering engine back to firefox once the page is opened. Weird.

Also, I am having trouble navigating the rest of the site. When I open some pages they are blank (using Firefox 2.0.0.7). I have cleared my cache, logged out and logged back in, restarted my computer, loaded page while holding shift, control and both. Any suggestions?

The device button restriction is in IR, not RM. I'm not sure that's the problem here since that restriction is on device upgrades that use a protocol upgrade as well, which isn't the case here. However, I don't think it can hurt to try setting the upgrade up that way.

When I initially ...

There is a note at the bottom of the IR devices tab that says: Note: This remote contains a bug that prevents device upgrades from working if they use upgraded protocols. Workaround: Set up devices that use upgraded protocols as "device button restricted."

When I initially transferred the output ...

I just discovered that if I program a macro to one of the two macro keys, I can send the signal. I have set Audio macro to send Setup (Magic) + 107 and I get Disc 1. Video macro is set to send Setup (Magic) + 059 to change to Disc 4. Maybe this will give a clue as to what is going on.

I've tried that too. Shift + 1, Setup + 1, Setup + Setup + 1, Magic +1, Magic +Magic + 1, none of these work. No response from the player. Magic (Setup) + 107 does work.

Yes, this is an old remote. It has a "Magic" key instead of Setup. Regardless, Shift + 1, Setup + 1 or Setup + Setup + 1, none of these work.

I have been unsuccessful accessing any of the Keymoves that appear in on the keymove tab.

Evan_s, you are correct shift 2 is 069 not 062. I fat fingered ...

Also I noticed the extender file for the 8080 in the files section was a much older version of the rdfs in the rdf package that I downloaded with IR.exe.

Here is today's ir file, freshly downloaded from remote http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=5050

I downloaded the 8080 extender file and put the files in with the other rdf files. I then opened that remote in remote master and went from there. I don't know if the ...

In terms of the question, what does the extender have to do with shifted keys. The only keys that seem to work with the shift key are those that have shift function in native mode. I don't know if an extender is the issue or not. I am ignorant and trying to figure out how to do this.

If I hit the setup key and then enter the EFC, for example 107. The player will change to disc 1. Setup + 062, disc 2 etc.

This tells me the EFCs are correct. I am just not getting the remote to send them with Shift + 1 or even Shift + up arrow.
