I don't quite understand the question, or how you would build a cage inside the case. Obviously it's the antenna on the HTPro repeater that has to be shielded. It doesn't pick up interference because of the shield. That's the point.
The shield has to be oriented such that it blocks the source of ...

wait, wait! It gets better! ;)
After getting confirmation that these units are fairly sensitive to RF noise (and being given the obvious clue to use a CCD device to check for it), I pulled out the Olympus and pointed it at the RF unit.
Initially I didn't see any IR noise. Not a peep. The unit only ...

HTPro, 9910 IR noise from RF unit
HTPro and 9910 owners: Do any of you have problems with the RF-IR repeater blinding your devices with IR noise?
I just figured out that my V880 is unresponsive to its remote when the repeater is plugged in. It behaves as though the unit is spewing IR noise and obscuring the signal. I don't have to ...

ahhh you are using a blaster. try turning it off and see if the v880 responds the same.
damn, damn, damn, damn. It's the blaster. With it unplugged both the HTPro and the original remote work fine. With it plugged in the HTPro works very unreliably, and the original remote basically doesn't work ...

I would like to help but not sure i can. I have been very happy with my OFA9910 and the V880. I have uploaded my file to the JP1 forum site and there are one or two others there as well. I did not have to tinker with delays at all to get any of the functions of the V880 to work. Certainly not the ...

momitsu V880 unresponsive
I recently picked up a V880 dvd player, which is known to have poor responsiveness to its remote. On avsforum several people claimed that they programmed their Harmonys and haven't had any problems since.
I've programmed my HTPro via JP1, but the unit is still very unresponsive. It behaves like the ...

What does this ccf data mean?
I noted that remotecentral has a file for my onkyo TX8211. So I ran it through the decoder. Here's the relevant bit. What's up with the protocol switching between NEC1 and NEC2? I don't know the difference between the two, but this output looks very odd to me. Could this be some error in the ccf ...

extender and protocol options for 9811
I'm trying to get my head around "extenders" and "special protocols". Some protocols only work with extenders. Some work without extenders. Some come in both flavors, like ToadTog.
I need ToadTog and LKP. Is LKP only available in the 8910 extender?
Also, is any special protocol or extender needed ...

I just tried some of the onkyo files in the archive. The discrete codes don't work. I wanted to try all of the sub-device 108 EFCs, so I tried creating a single sub-device upgrade, with NEC1. This didn't seem to work. If I change the protocol to NEC1 and set the device and subdevice to the usual ...
