I am selling some distribution components on EBAY (sold)

http://ebay.us/CaQIoK?cmpnId=5338273189

I am selling these TV Distribution system components as I have upgraded from two SKY HD boxes to SKY Q with mini boxes.

The Labgear MSA283LP allows you to distribute TV signals and/or control SKY in up to 8 locations

The signal booster does the same for 4 ...

Found your post when searching how to dismantle a 6440.

I had a similar settings.bin problem a year or to ago after I dowloaded a new upgrade from simpleset and it messed up the configuration due to versions and upgrades.

Currently investigating a rattle inside one of our 6440's and it transpired ...

Thanks Rob

Understandable

As I tried to explain (!) the code used (2239) switched:-

1: the volume up and channel up buttons; and
2: the volume down and channel down buttons.

All the other buttons worked as expected and I thought learning was the easiest option. I guess I could have edited the ...

Hello again

I noticed that the volume up and down weren't repeating when button held down - It looks like you edited these learned signals too - I've just relearned them but after reading up the links you sent I now know why and could have edited them back!

Cheers

Thanks very much - perfect!

And thanks again for your help and for all the JP1 stuff.

I've been using the applications for years, first with OFA 7562's and lately with 6440's to save having multiple controls for TV, Satellite and Cable and to make switching between them easy. The macros and ...

Both of them worked - thanks very much. FYI the bush upgrade I used switched the volume +/- with the channel +/- so that is why I learned them as well. Because I use volume punch through I need to have them on the actual buttons, not shifted. There's maybe another bush upgrade available that isn't ...

Thanks - I'll give them a go when my better half leaves the kitchen!

Thanks for that - I'd only expected guidance on how to edit, not that you would do it!

Keith :)

Struggling to get this to work - is there any way of editing the signal to stop the repeat?

Many thanks.

I'll give that a go - I was trying to press as quick as possible.

As we never use any of the TV controls apart from volume and on/off that's not really an issue but thanks for the hint.

6440 remote creating multiple keystrokes when macro runs

I have recently got a new TV for our kitchen - only 19" available was Bush from Argos. I use both SKY and Virgin on it so have SKY through component (as I amplify the volume because output from SKY box is pretty puny) and Virgin through HDMI. In order to make changing input reliably I have built ...

Brilliant

This extender is so good I have bought 4 6440's to replace my trusty 7562's and I no longer need to struggle with my patched up parallel JP1.1 cable.

Many thanks to all those involved in constructing the extender.

Keith :)

LKP on Device keys

Would the extender mean that I would be able to assign a macro to a device key using a long key press?

I currently use URC-7562's which have function buttons that I have programmed so that I can switch between input devices on the TV and change the device on the remote with one key press on the ...
